Now that this was over, I just wanted Ginny. “Let’s get back to the clubhouse.”
“Home,” Maddog clarified.
“Home,” I agreed.
Chapter 14 Ginny
“The Crimson Skulls did what?” Bianca asked, shock visible on her delicate features.
I met the ol’ ladies of the club when Big Mike brought me here. He said Maddog and the Graven Bastards MC were allies and could be trusted. Bianca, a beautiful girl with an olive complexion and raven hair, was Manic’s woman. I learned each of their names and which brother in the club claimed them. Creature and Blair. Maddog and Lark. Skel and Lacey. None of the other members had formed any attachments yet.
“They murdered my father fifteen years ago. That’s why there’s been such a rivalry between them and the Desert Titans.”
“But I thought you said the Titans took out the Crimson Skulls after Hesh’s death.”
“That’s what we thought,” I clarified to Lark.
“Wow.” She shook her head. “They came back.”
“They did. That’s why Brick took me to a safe house. They put a hit on both of us and tried to kill us.”
Blair squeezed my hand. “I’m glad you’re safe.”
“Me too.”
“How did it go with the feds?” Lark asked. “They like to try to shake us down and make us reveal information about the club.”
“They tried.” I rolled my eyes. “They even offered to put me into WITSEC and relocate me, my mother, and Uncle Trig. Of course, I told them they were wasting their time.”
“Good for you,” Lacey applauded. “My father’s a judge. You have no idea how many times I’ve been pumped for information.”
“I can’t imagine.”
“Well, you’re here now. Safe,” Blair reminded me.
“And you’re one of us,” Lark added.
“Thank you.”
“We’re happy to have you.”
I just met these women and already felt welcomed, included, and like I mattered.
The rumble of multiple motorcycles alerted us to the impending arrival of the club. We rushed toward the door, leaving the kitchen where we’d been having tea. Yes, hot tea and cookies as I joined the ol’ ladies’ club. Ironic since none of us were old.
When I stepped outside, I was immediately drawn to Brick. He rose off the seat of his Harley and met my gaze with a powerful, hungry, intense stare that made my thighs clench together. Oh, wow.
“Ginny.”
His voice. It was somehow deeper, grittier than it had even been. That wasn’t the only change I could see. Something about his eyes mesmerized me. They were the same blue, yet different. Energy radiated from him, along with his sexy swagger, as he approached me.
That was when my gaze dipped, and I saw the growing bulge between his legs, drawing a gasp from my lips. Was he bigger than I remembered?
“Bedlam, work it out of your system.”
Brick snorted.
Wait. Bedlam?
