Blade stands next to her, their shoulders touching. Glancing around the room, Haze is at the bar, a woman on either side of him, but his amber eyes are locked on Lu.
From the other side of the room, there’s Ghost, who’s leaning against the wall on his phone, but his eyes are on Xanthe.
What’s wrong with these men?
Can they not communicate?
Haze needs to get every willing vagina off his dick and talk to Lu, and Ghost needs to… I don’t know. Get a personality transplant and then ask out Xanthe. Oh, and maybe not get a blowjob in public. That might be nice.
Rome walks over and pulls me against his chest. “You okay?”
I nod. “Sorry to hear about your strippers.”
“They will be okay,” he rumbles, chest expanding as he takes a deep breath. “I’m just glad everyone is okay. We’re going into lockdown, so I want you and your friends to stay here for a few nights, okay?”
“Yeah, that’s fine.” Because if it saves our lives, I’m not going to complain. I feel terrible that I’ve dragged Lu and Xanthe into this, though. Although, to be honest, it looks like they are having the time of their lives.
Rome kisses the top of my head and then goes to the bar. From the corner of my eye, Heaven approaches. She has two cocktails in her hand, and she offers me one. I take it without looking at her.
She sits next to me and clears her throat. “I want to apologize. I know what you must think of me, but I would never fuck with a biker who already has an old lady, especially one that I really like and would love to consider a friend. I don’t have many morals, I suppose, but I’m big on girl code. I haven’t seen War since…” she trails off. “And I didn’t hear that he had settled down.”
Finally, I glance over at her. Her pretty green eyes glisten, the weight of regret settling in their depths. She shifts, lips pressing together as if holding back more words as a slow breath escapes me. “It’s not your fault,” I say, forcing a smile that feels tighter than it should. “I don’t blame you… but I do appreciate your apology.”
She smiles, her shoulders relaxing like the tension has been released.
I feel War’s eyes on me from the bar, wondering if he should intervene. I ignore him. Let him sweat a little.
“He can’t stop looking at you,” she murmurs, sighing dreamily. She then watches Lore grab one of the blondes, Candy, and lifts her onto his lap. “That’s the one you need to look out for.”
“Lore? Why? Because he’s charming and slutty?”
Heaven throws her head back and laughs. “Because he treats women really well. So well, they think he’s really into them, and they’re going to have a relationship. He will wine and dine them, buy them shit, and be sweet, sexy, and thoughtful. He’s affectionate as fuck. He won’t kick you out of bed the next morning. But then he gets bored and moves on to the next. He’s a heartbreaker, that one.”
“Ouch,” I murmur, and she nods, wincing. “Yeah, at least with the assholes, you know what you’re getting into.”
“You’ve slept with Lore?” I whisper, and she nods.
“Yeah, I have. I don’t think there are many here who haven’t. He loves women.” She nods toward Haze. “I’ve slept with him, too, but he usually takes more than one woman to bed with him. He is talented with his tongue ring and goes all night long. He’s known for his… stamina.”
“Next time I need inside information, I’m coming straight to you,” I mutter, and she grins, showing off a set of perfect white teeth. “What do you know about Ghost?”
She winces slightly, tilting her head to the side. “He won’t fuck anyone and look them in the eye. He mostly gets head from the women he spends time with. He’s the opposite of Lore… he’s not nice, and he’s not affectionate. In fact, if he’s not fucking you, he won’t touch you at all. I heard he didn’t have a good life, and he’s kind of fucked up. He used to be an underground fighter. Oh, and he likes control and role-playing.”
Well, I knew that one.
“The twins?”
She blushes, fanning herself. “They work together very well.”
Oh fuck, Lu was right.
“Scorp?”
“Only fucks nurses, as far as I know,” she says in a low tone.
This is the best tea I’ve ever heard.
“Angel?”
