No point teasing them with what they can’t have.
Lore loses it, laughing, slapping at his thigh. “First you call me slutty, now you’re telling him to change? What the fuck is happening here?”
“You’re both slutty,” I huff.
“All the better to please you with, my dear,” he replies, ignoring the scowl War sends his way.
“No slut shaming, Ora!” Bones calls out. “We like them like that here!”
Everyone laughs.
I turn to War with my eyebrows raised. His eyes sparkle with mirth as he dips his head for a long, hungry kiss.
“Get a room!” Lore calls out in a sing-song voice.
Shaking my head, I go into the kitchen to prepare lunch. Lu and I baked some desserts last night with Xanthe. We decided to have a barbecue today, so I begin making the sides, knowing that one of the men can grill the meat.
After War and I told each other how we feel, it’s like a weight has been lifted.
We love each other.
He wants me.
I want him.
We can make it work.
When I woke up this morning, I realized I hadn’t gotten my period. I tried to think of the last time, and I know it was before I first slept with War. This is the worst timing because I can’t just run out and get a test. If I am pregnant, how will War take it? We’ve never spoken about children. I know I’ve always wanted them, and even if the timing isn’t ideal right now, I will make it work.
I’m almost finished in the kitchen when War steps in, fully dressed in his biker boots and leather. “I’m heading out, baby. Stay here.”
“Okay,” I reply, smiling as he nuzzles my neck. “Stay safe.”
“It’s not me you have to worry about.” He winks, kissing me deeply before leaving.
I’m washing the dishes when a man I’ve never seen before steps inside. He must have about ten or so years on me, but he’s very attractive. “Sorry,” he murmurs, wincing. “Just wanted to get some more beer.”
The man is dressed in the usual biker get-up—heavy boots, jeans, and a tight white T-shirt showing off his corded muscles, but it’s his eyes that capture my attention.
They are the lightest blue I’ve ever seen.
I point to the second refrigerator we use for drinks. “There’s more in there. Help yourself. I’m Ora, by the way.”
“Demon,” he introduces, winking at me. “You must be the woman War threatened us all over.”
I grin. “That would be me. There’s heaps of food around if you’re hungry. I’ve made some cinnamon rolls too.”
“I can see why he doesn’t want anyone to go near you,” he replies, those stunning eyes crinkling at the corners.
Lu passes him in the hallway, her eyes widening as she leans against the countertop. “Wow. Who was that?”
“Demon.”
“Well, he makes me want to sin. He’s hot,” she purrs, glancing around the kitchen. “Why didn’t you call me to help you? What else is there to do? Xanthe is picking up all the empty bottles and cans. These men are really fucking spoiled, you know that?”
I couldn’t agree more. “You could ice the cake,” I reply, tapping my index finger against my cheek. “I think that’s about it. We can do the soufflé pancakes for breakfast tomorrow.”
Half of the men are still missing when dinner time comes around. I spot Lore with some woman up against the wall and roll my eyes. “Lore, I need you to work the grill.”
