"There isn't a time that I don't want to be near you," I confessed.
His lips brushed gently over my skin, kissing my forehead, then my cheek, and finally my lips. I wanted him right here and right now, but I didn't want to be pushy, either.
Mathias broke the kiss and leaned his head on mine, "God, I want you so fucking bad, omega."
"Show me your work and then maybe we will have time for some fun," I said against his chest. Something was off and I had a suspicion my heat was hitting soon. The urge to drag him home and lock them in my nest was starting to take me over.
"Deal," he groaned, almost reluctantly. Could he feel it, too?
There were four doors on the landing, each with a name on it. "The other two have an office up here, too, but I'm usually the only one that works from them. Holt is always at the ranch and Ash isn’t the office type. Of course, we also have an empty one. That will be yours now."
"What? An office for me here? What would I need that for?" I asked, but I was secretly jumping for joy on the inside. They were leaving space for me in so many ways without even realizing it. My omega adored it.
"Editing, invoicing, napping. Doesn't matter. We built it for our omega to do with as she pleased," he answered. “Even if it’s a cozy nesting room to simply be close to us.”
"I could think of something more fun than napping," I teased. "I love the idea of working here and being near you guys. There are some things for my business that I can do from anywhere."
"Great, I'll get your name plate made up and you can decorate when you're ready. For now, here's my space," he said as he opened the door with his name on it.
It was even better than I thought. There was a mural that connected all four walls, it was four wolves in the mountains at night, howling at the moon. One wolf on each of the walls, as if they were talking to each other.
"This is amazing," I said, moving towards the closest wolf and tracing the outline with my fingers. "The small details make it so life-like. You have a real gift."
"That's what the guys tell me," he shrugged as I turned my head back to smile at him. "I'm just grateful that I can do what I love everyday."
Mathias sat me down at his desk, where his portfolio was waiting for me to flip through.
"Are you trying to seduce me with your art?" I asked, glancing up at him.
"Maybe...is it working?" he laughed.
"It doesn't hurt," I answered, turning to the next page. "You need to sell some of these as prints. They are fucking fantastic."
"Ash keeps telling me that, too, but I don't like to put myself out there. Painting cars is one thing, but I don't do well with criticism," he told me.
"I get that, but if I can do it, so can you," I promised with another page opened. “Plus, if they’re going to your website to buy them, they want them.”
"We will see," he mused as he took out a large, white tarp, placing it on the floor. On top of it he put a canvas big enough to be a small bed.
"What is that for?" I asked, looking up from the book.
"My next work of art. Well, ours," he smiled at me, hunger in his gaze.
"Huh?"
What kind of art was made on the floor?
He ignored me and gathered some paints in squeeze bottles and placed them on the edge of the white tarp.
"Come here and I'll show you," he said, with a crook of his finger at me. That heat I’d been avoiding was now pulsing in my veins at what he was offering. Slick dampened my underwear and I nearly knocked over the chair as I stood.
He moved away long enough to lock his office door. When he walked back, his gait was slow, stopping several feet away as his fingers worked free the buttons on his shirt, shoving it off.
My mouth went dry as he slowly removed every piece of his clothing until he was standing before me in all his lean glory.
“Your turn, baby,” he urged, stroking himself slowly as his dark-green eyes burned for me. He was the picture of calm confidence and it stole my breath away. Mathias was so many things, but in this moment, he was sexy and charming, a lethal combination.
I barely started to strip off my clothes when a burst of pain hit me right in the stomach, doubling me over in an awful cramp.
