Nees grins, satisfied with that answer.
“I’m going,” LuLu threatens. “I will walk if I have to.”
She truly is delusional if she thinks a group of bikers plus Caius are going to let her waltz out of here to go see some stranger she met on an app. Hell no.
“And I’ll lock you in the fucking laundry room if I have to,” Caius throws back. “Cancel it.”
Furious, she storms over to her phone and starts rapid fire texting. Right now, I know she’s angry, but I also know LuLu. She loves having people protect her. We’re an extension of her family and we deeply care about her. I’m just grateful she’s acting like a normal teenager.
Nova whines to get out of my lap. I set her to her feet on the side of the pool. She unsteadily walks over to where LuLu has plopped down on the lounge chair. All fury bleeds out of LuLu when Nova says her name.
LuLu scowls at Nees as if this is all his fault.
“You’re going to have to watch those two,” Hadley says, smirking at me.
“Who?”
“Are you blind? What do you mean, who?”
I frown at her in confusion. “I’m genuinely not sure of what you’re talking about.”
Her brows lift in surprise. “Really, Romy? Come on.”
She turns and I follow her gaze. Nees, whenever he plays with Kaitlyn, never takes his eyes off LuLu.
“She’s too young for him,” I mutter, not liking the idea of what she’s suggesting.
“Not for long.” She shrugs. “Just saying. Mark my words. I bet anything that date was just to make someone jealous. She sure gave up on it easily.”
I whip my head over to look at LuLu. She’s showing Nova something on her phone, but I don’t miss the furtive glance Nees’s way.
No way.
Not happening.
Caius will murder Nees.
“I really wish you hadn’t pointed that out to me.”
Hadley laughs. “Someone needed to.”
Caius has vanished, so I stand up to go find him. Since Eva is out here and everyone around us cares about these girls, I know I can leave and they’ll watch them. Eva nods at me as I head for the house, confirming my thoughts.
I hear shouting in the conference room, Caius’s voice being the loudest. He’s pissed and I know exactly about what. Too bad he’s been misled.
Ugh.
“Everything. I want to know what this dipshit eats for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.”
Koyn grunts, tapping away on his laptop. Dragon is perched on the edge of the table, trying to get a good look at the “bad guy” in question. Poor Snap kid doesn’t know what’s coming.
“I don’t think we need to worry,” I say to my husband. “We have bigger problems.”
He whirls around to face me, concern etched in his handsome face. “Why? What’s going on?”
“Nees. I think she’s lowkey crushing on him.”
Koyn barks out a rare laugh. “Oh, shit.”
