“You are so annoying.”
“I know.”
“This is all your fault.” We reach the top of the stairs.
“Oh, I’m sorry. Did my dick just fall out of my pants and impregnate you? Blame the shoes you had on the first night we had sex.” And those fucking shoes she’s wearing are the same ones and her ankles do not look like sausages. She looks sexy as hell.
She growls, making me laugh. “I hate you.”
“And I love you.” So fucking much it hurts some days. I don’t know how I breathed before she came into my life. “Keep the shoes on tonight and I’ll fuck you so good when we get home.” I pull her into my arms as much as humanly possible. She’s due in two weeks and it looks like she swallowed a beach ball.
The little deviant that lives inside, causing her horny pregnancy hormones, makes her eyes fill with lust. “Do we have to go to dinner?”
“Your parents are coming for dinner. Of course we do.”
“My mom and dad are so weird. Nicki doesn’t know what she’s getting herself into.”
Having only met them once briefly at the wedding, they seem lovely. While Kali finds them embarrassing, I find them fascinating.
“Looks like they are already here.” I point to her sister’s car they have been using while on vacation.
“They’ll be telling them about the gruesome process of mummification. We have to stop them.” She grabs my hand, pulling me along behind her.
“You are wild tonight, Mrs. Edwards.”
That stops her in her tracks. “I am wild?” She points to her chest, her boobs much fuller now, they are almost popping out of her dress.
“Yes. I think you are the one that needs taming these days, not me.”
“Are you the man to tame me?”
“I think I might be.” I steal a kiss.
Because I’m no longer referred to asWildWade Collins by the fans, the guy who couldn’t control himself on and off the ice, because now they refer to me asWildWade Edwards. The hockey player who dragged himself from the bottom of the polls to the top. Who had more assists than any other player on the team based on regular season play, and then went on to win thetrophy for most outstanding player in the NHL, for exemplifying the qualities of dedication, perseverance, and tenacity. There are even talks of me being selected for the Winter Olympics team, as is Zane.
Which iswildin an awesome way.
“Have we switched places? Is pregnancy making me crazy? Am I now trouble?” She looks shocked at that revelation.
“Yes.” I grin, pushing open the front door I now let myself through because I visit my family with and without Kali all the time. Mainly because Nicki mastered Gretchen’s cookie recipe, and it’s what she makes to lure me here.
“It’s you that got me into this trouble.” She rubs her belly.
“Then we can be trouble together.”
“We can be wild together,” she counters.
I like the sound of that.
Together.
With her by my side, I don’t need a support team, because she’s the whole goddamn package.
