The smile comes back out, along with the famous Case Murphy attitude. “Uncle Rod, you know if I race, I’m going to win.”

I lean back in my chair and chuckle. Yep, there’s my boy. “Then I think you’ve made your decision. Be sure to let us all know the race date. I want to be there to pour champagne over your head in the winner’s circle.”

“By the way, Uncle Rod, I’ve seen you with Jen Marsh.”

“No. Hold it right there. Not you too, boy. Did Hannah and Blake send you here to interrogate me about my intentions?”

“Whoa, Uncle. I haven’t talked to my folks in about a week. I just wanted to say I love seeing you happy. Yeah, I’ve heard the rumors going around town. Especially the dry humping episode that went on in the middle of the coffee shop.” Case holds up a hand to high five. I glare and he lowers his hand back to the arm rest of the chair, but the smirk on his face doesn’t fade. “Way to go, Uncle.”

“We kissed. We didn’t paw all over each other.”

Case snickers. “That’s not what I heard. I heard your hands were on her ass.”

I snap the folder I’d been working with closed and raise a brow. “I think that’s enough. Don’t you have a business to run?”

Case’s smug expression lingers on his face as he leaves. A few moments later, I hear Case and Barbara sharing a laugh or two. Probably at my expense.
