“Don’teverdisrespect her again. She is your fucking boss now. And don’t think you can question me in my classroom. You want to hurt me right now, but do it the right way. Fight nights are still a thing—so it’s me and you. If you can beat me, then you can talk shit, but just remember, we are bigger, stronger, and faster than you will ever be.”

Khale’s face turns a weird shade of reddish blue before Creed throws him to the floor. “And that goes for any of you. If youhave an issue, let’s do it the Olympia way, where you have the chance to beat the shit out of people you don’t like.”

“I don’t need this shit,” Khale spits, storming from the room.

Creed removes his jacket, passing it to me as he walks to the front of the room and pulls down a projector screen.

“Welcome to my class. I don’t pussyfoot around those with a weak stomach. If you puke, I will remove you from my class. All the bodies that we will work with have been donated. Everyone needs to be in their lab coats and gloves before class begins. There is a storage cupboard at the back of the room which will have face masks and goggles for those who want them. Kai, could you get the box in the back with the lab coats?”

Kai slips from his chair and moves to the storage room. “Gloves are on the wall over there, and a wastebasket is also in the corner of the room for you to dispose of your gloves before you leave each lesson. Your coats have your last name stitched onto the back, but they need to be thrown into the green basket. They will be washed and returned here for the next lesson. Again, you will find them in the storage room. It’s your responsibility to be here before I’m here, to be ready. Any questions?”

I raise my hand.

“Jolie.”

“Can we eat snacks in here?”

“If eating around dead corpses is your thing, have at it.”

I shrug in response. It would take more than a dead body to stop me from snacking right now. I’m so grateful that Petra packs me a snack box for the day. I pull a muesli bar from my pocket and wrap Creed’s suit jacket around my body to keep the cool air out.

Kai returns and hands out our lab coats. I’m thankful for the additional layer. I underestimated how cold it would be in here—that, or Creed just hasn’t noticed the chill.

“Um, teach,” Kai says with a smirk, and Creed just raises a brow at him. “Did you wanna check the temperature in here? Not all of us are immune to the cold, and we don’t need the babies to get frostbite.”

I’m not the only pregnant girl in the class. I’m not sure who she is, but I have seen her face in the meetings with the pregnant girls and their teams. She is one who doesn’t plan on keeping the baby after it’s born. She doesn’t even know if it’s hers, and neither do we. The research Chester has gone through suggests that a lot of these women are just incubators for embryos the scientists had been working on over time. We still don’t understand why Mr Z even bothered to use Summer, Sinclair, Blayne, and Betty, and for them to be the biological parents. Was it just him trying to be nice in his own weird way? Or did he think it would make it okay? Since he isn’t here, I can’t ask him. I just hope Chester and his team of scientists can figure it out.

Creed takes pity on all of us girls and fixes the temperature. It’s still cold as hell since we don’t want the body to smell out the room. Khale ends up stalking back into the room with an even bigger scowl than before he left.

Since this is the first lesson, Creed runs us through the toolkit we will need, which everyone was provided with and must bring to class. It’s weird knowing we can just walk around campus with what are essentially weapons, but I suppose we won’t be the only ones. I was hoping we would have jumped straight in and started cutting up body parts, but Creed takes his job seriously. It’s extremely sexy to see him talk about something he is so passionate about. Time flies, and once class is over, Creed calls me to the front of the room and dismisses everyone else. Kai says he will wait for me outside.

“You know, Tenshi, I like you wearing my clothes in front of everyone,” he says as I walk to the front of the room where his desk is situated.

“I like wearing your clothes, but if you think this,” I say, gesturing between us, “is going to lead to sex, you’re mistaken. I have been scarred for life over the last morgue experience. So you will have to wait until you get home.”

He smirks at me. “No, that can wait until the babies are born. I just wanted to tell you I have a body coming in. The Order called in one of their favours, and I have to do a full autopsy tonight and wanted to see if you would like to be my assistant.”

“Are you serious?” I ask in excitement, wrapping my arms around his neck and pushing up on my tiptoes so I’m closer to his face. Damn these Taylor men and how tall they are. “Do I get to cut things?”

“I might even let you cut the skull open this time.”

“And I might just suck your dick in the shower once we’re done,” I say, pecking his lips, and his jaw drops.

Creed gapes at me for a beat before he finds his voice. “I say you have yourself a deal, Tenshi. After dinner, you’re mine.”

Kai knocks on the door and gives us a pointed look, tapping on his imaginary watch. We still have another class before the day is over, and now that Creed has promised me a good time, I just know the rest of the day will drag on.

Chapter Thirteen

Jolie

Today didn’t just drag on—it went agonisingly slow. Creed finished up his day early, so the second my class let out, I didn’t bother waiting on anyone. Creed was already waiting for me in the parking area.

“Someone is happy,” he says, leaning over from the driver’s side to press a quick kiss to my lips.

“That’s because you promised me a good time,” I cheer, rubbing my hands together. “I have been wanting to see how you cut a skull open.”

He shakes his head with a smirk. “Only you would be excited about that. It’s like you were made for me or something.”
