“I wonder how Grandma Betty managed that? She told me she was going to try to get her to come and work with us.”

“She didn’t sound overly happy about it, but since Mr Z and Ziyon are both gone, she is open to reconsidering, depending on our interview.”

“Good morning,” Melinda chirps, walking into the kitchen, freshly showered. She moves over to Linus and steals Zadom from him.

Once she recovered, we had a long talk about her getting her memory back, and what she remembered about her relationship with Mr Z and Ziyon. One morning, she told me she was going to use the money left by Mr Z to get out of our hair, but I asked her to stay and help with the babies. It’s been good spending time together and getting to know her. Some of the guys are not convinced we can fully trust her, but why would she shoot Ziyon and bring us our babies back if that was the case?

“Any plans today?” she asks me.

“Just having brunch with some of my friends, then I’m free all afternoon.”

“I thought we could visit your sister’s grave today. I think I’m ready.”

“Melinda, I would love that,” I tell her.

My phone vibrates from my pocket. As I pull it out, Summer’s name flashes on the screen. “Hey!”

“It’s time,” she says excitedly.

“The baby is coming?” I gasp.

“Yep,” she says with a laugh. “You should see the guys. I’m waiting by the door, and they are running around like dumbasses, packing the car. I actually think they might have forgotten me.”

“Good luck. Did you call the doctor and let him know you’re on your way?”

“On it,” Brennan says from behind me. “Good luck.”

“Thanks, and they did forget me,” she says. “The car is now flying back up the driveway. I will call you when this child is out of me.”

“I’m so sorry, Sunshine. We were so excited, we left without you,” Khale says, making me laugh.

The line goes dead, and I smile. “The guys forgot Summer—she’s in labour.”

Brennan smirks, and the others laugh. From all the research I have on our teams, once one of the guys was born, everyone else followed within two days. I can’t wait to break it to Sinclair, and especially Blayne—she has been begging the doctor to take the baby out for the last couple of weeks.

Trace and Laughn volunteered to take me to brunch today. I’m not an idiot; I also see the black SUV that follows behind us everywhere we go. I’m sure it’s all overkill, but if it makes them feel better, I can deal with it for a little while longer.

Once we are all ready, we venture out of the house. The guys clip the babies into the back of my new pimped-out minivan. I take a seat in the back between the capsules while the guys take the front. Watching Laughn back the van out does things to me. Who would have thought seeing him drive a mum car would be such a turn-on?

The café Sinclair picked for brunch isn’t far, and Laughn finds a park right out the front, reversing the van in perfectly.

“Show off,” I mutter. I still have to get the okay to drive again. While the doctor knows about our healing abilities, he still insists on the six-week healing process. I feel like Brennan just pays him to tell me that crap.

Laughn and Trace both exit the car, getting the pram bases from the boot and setting them up on the sidewalk. Then I unclip the capsules, handing them out one by one as the guys click them into place.

Sinclair waves through the glass window, and Blayne has her customary scowl on her face. Jimmie sits beside Betty and rubs her belly.

“We won’t cramp your style, Star. We will sit by the door.”

I kiss Trace on the cheek. I love how they get that a girl just needs her friends sometimes, and they don’t make me feel guilty about it. Heads turn as Laughn pushes Zadom into the buildingand over to the table. Sinclair starts to gush and do baby talk, but that’s just not something I can do.

Trace parks Zhavia’s pram right next to Zadom, and both guys go find a seat while I sit in the spare that’s already at the table.

“They are so damn cute,” Sinclair gushes. “I hope Kyro is half as cute.”

“Unlikely, have you seen Colt’s face?” Blayne snaps. She is awfully moody.

“Don’t worry about her—she is crabby and has some cramps. The nurse said it’s common at this stage in pregnancy.”
