“I can honestly say this is new for me,” Theo adds.
“Shh, it’s better when you don’t speak,” Mia says, and he zips his lips.
“This is oddly normal,” Brandy says, and we stop bickering. “It’s good to know nothing is going to change.”
“I’m just happy to be here.” Theo rests his arms on the back of the sofa and kicks his legs out. “Hey, darling, can you get me another bowl of rice?”
“Sure, but I can’t guarantee it won’t be poisoned.”
“You’re no fun.” He pouts.
“I’ll get you one,” Brandy offers and heads to the kitchen.
“At least someone loves me!” Theo shouts, and Brandy laughs.
Taking the pillow I threw at him earlier, I chuck it at his face and snort when he doesn’t catch it in time.
“Okay, I deserved that,” he grumbles before puckering his lips. “Kiss and makeup?”
Walking toward him, I lean close. Our noses brush, and as our lips touch, I whisper, “You wish.”
“Is it hot in here?” Mia teases, fanning her face. Theo and I look at her, and she says, “Don’t stop on my account. If anything, this will save my wallet.”
“You’re disgusting,” I laugh.
“What? I’m a paying customer!”
“You paid for his porn?” Brandy interjects, holding back a laugh.
“Don’t judge me!”
“I don’t know, Wren. I can’t deny a loyal fan.” Theo holds his hands out.
“You’re not helping,” I tell him, and he grins at me.
“I love you two together,” Mia sighs.
With a smile, I look at her and then at Theo. “I do too.”
Chapter Thirty-Seven
Theo
I don’t recall ever beingthiscontent. I have the TV on, but the volume is low. Wren’s voice filters in from her room, and I’m not so patiently waiting for her to take her lunch break. I was expecting things to simmer between us as the days passed, but our desire to be near one another hasn’t let up, and I can’t stop fucking her.
The mere idea of having her underneath or riding me is enough to get me hard. There was a reason I stopped recording so often: I was bored of sex. Yet, with Wren, things are different. I crave the sounds she makes. I want her body against mine, her nails raking against my skin. Her murmurs and cries that fill the room are the fuel that drives me. And fuck, is it impossible to resist.
I’ve lost track of the days. That’s what this woman has done to me. She sent me into a reality where time doesn’t exist. The only essence I need to survive is her, and it’s bliss. I didn’t know how dull my life was until she moved in, and almost a month later, I can’t imagine not having her within these walls. And I don’t have to because she’s not going anywhere.
Deciding to make myself useful, I get on my feet and head into the kitchen to make lunch. I scan the food in the refrigeratorand wish Wren and I had the chance to go to the store sooner because our options are slim. So, I pull out my phone, opting to scroll through the delivery app to find some takeout.
Huh, this place is new. Usually, we order sandwiches or gluten-free Thai food. We haven’t had pizza in a while, which is odd considering it’s her favorite.
As I pick out the food, a rush of happiness runs through me. This is my life, and fuck, is it everything I ever wanted.
When Wren opens her door, I already have the food prepared for us on the living room table and our show playing on the TV. I’ve learned that not only am I protective of my girl, but she is and will always be mine, and I’ll do everything I can to ensure she knows how important she is to me.
“What’s this?”
