“He wasn’t?” I ask while tilting my head.

“Far from it.”

“Regardless of my type, you didn’t have to be so rude—” I turn around, gasping when our noses touch.

“I didn’t like how he looked at you,” he whispers while dancing his fingers up my arm. “Did you like him?”

“No,” I say with a nervous hitch to my breath.

“How come?”

Looking into his eyes, I answer him easily. “Because he’s not you.”

“You’re not scared anymore?”

His lips skim over mine, and I whimper from the tingling sensation.

“No more running,” I tell him.

“Then get on the bed.”

Chapter Twenty-Nine

Theo

“And why would I do that?”Wren asks with a sly grin.

She takes a step back, and I take one forward, ensuring we don’t leave one another’s space.

“Because I asked nicely.”

“I don’t know.” She hums, and when her legs hit the bed, she looks up at me.

“You owe me, remember?”

She stands toe to toe with me and says, “I don’toweyou anything.”

I curl my fingers around the base of her neck as I hover my lips over hers, so close I can feel the heat radiating from her skin. “You’re telling me you’re not desperate for release after sucking me off last night?”

Her breath brushes against my mouth, shaky and sweet.

I tighten my grip just a fraction, grounding her, as her pulse flutters beneath my thumb. “It’s your turn, love.”

“Here?” she whispers, glancing around my old room.

“Here,” I answer as I play with her lips.

“Theo—”

I kiss her before she can argue. I’ve been dying to touch her like this again. She’s all-consuming, and the noises I pull from her are blissful sins.

Her moan vibrates against me, and I’m far too quick to deepen our kiss. Parting her lips, I hum in pleasure as our tongues meet. I can taste the strawberries I was envious of, mixed in with her natural, sweet aroma. I’m drunk within seconds, but I’m a greedy bastard.

“Do you trust me?” My voice drops low, roughened with a need I can barely keep in check.

“Yes.”

There’s something heady about seeing her like this, laid bare and vulnerable, trusting me to give her something she’s never had before. Her body relaxes, her breaths steadying, and all I can think is how badly I want to show her that she’s safe with me, that I want this as much as she does—and maybe more.
