We both collapsed forward, and he held himself up on his elbows even as he heaved in breaths, then he rolled off me, pulling me into his body as he did.
“That was better than I could have ever imagined.”
All I could do was nod. He was like the pied piper of orgasms. He crooked his finger and they just poured from me. I laughed silently at the image of him blowing a whistle, calling forth my orgasms.
“Worth the wait,” I said softly, snuggling into his chest.
He kissed the top of my head. “Uh-huh. But I would have waited forever for you if I had to.”
As I laid in his arms, his body spooned around mine, I thought that perhaps I had been waiting forever for him too.
Chapter Twenty-Six
When I drove away from Nîso, it’s town lights flashing in the rearview mirror, I was conflicted. On one hand, so far Nîso had only brought me fear and pain. I missed Dark River and my home. On the other hand, I was leaving a big chunk of my heart there too, although he promised he would come back to visit as soon as he’d wrapped up everything after the trials and banishment, as well as sniffing out any more conspirators. Still, after spending so many days together, it felt wrong to leave him.
It was a feeling I’d have to get used to because Brody might love me, might be my Mate, he loved his Pack too, and I would never make him choose. However, on the plus side, he let me borrow his car and actually drive it. I couldn’t keep the huge grin off my face as I pressed the gas and the car rumbled to life under me like a monster.
“I can hear you grinning from here,” Tex laughed, though he was holding onto the sissy-handle on the door awfully tightly.
The car hugged the curves of the winding road like it was built for it, and with my now inhuman reflexes, driving was almost as good as sex. I drove too fast, but it wasn’t fast enough. I swerved around a deer with ease, the roads empty except for wildlife, and I just enjoyed a quiet moment that reaffirmed that I was alive. This, and being loved by my guys, were the simple things that chased away the pain of my death. I hadn’t even thought about my old life lately, probably because my new life had been a little stabby itself, but when I did think about my human life, it was never with longing or regret anymore. I missed my family. Nothing would change that. But did I ever want to go back to being Mika McKellen again? Never.
When I pulled up in front of my house, Tex scrambled out of the car so quickly he was basically a flash of slightly green skin. “You drive like a lunatic, Woman!” he growled, and I just grinned. He stomped towards the house, and I followed him laughing. I hadn’t driven that fast.
Judge was standing on our stoop, waiting for us, something that looked a lot like love shining in his eyes. Not that he would ever say the words, but he didn’t have to. I didn’t need the validation of the three words when his actions told me a million times over every day.
Tex reached him first, and Judge gave him a punishing kiss, filled with yearning and need. Then he pulled away and looked at me, reaching out and tugging me into his arms so quickly my head spun. He kissed me with all those four-letter words no one wanted to say out loud. I grinned against his lips as I felt Tex stand behind me, his body pressed right along my back as he buried his face in my neck.
“Seriously. This is a respectable neighborhood. If you are going to do perverted things on the doorstep, we may as well make it an orgy on the lawn,” a familiar voice said from behind us, and a grin spread across my face even as Judge was kissing me.
Judge gave me a crooked smile. “I’m beginning to see why Walker hates him so much. That really is annoying.” He reached down and adjust his hard cock in his pants. He looked over my shoulder. “You offering, Asshole?”
I looked over my shoulder, past the hot look in Tex’s eyes that said he wasn’t opposed to an orgy in the front yard at all, to the grinning face of X. Fuck, he looked like sin on a stick. He raised his eyebrows and his fingers flew to his zip. Before I could stop him, he was standing there with his pants around his ankles. “I never say no to an orgy.”
I rushed over to him. “Jesus. Put your pants on before Walker comes around and arrests us all for public indecency.”
X has no shame, just waggling his eyebrows. “Is he bringing handcuffs?”
I laughed because let’s face it, I’d had the exact same thoughts every time I saw him in his uniform. “Will you put your pants on so I can hug you already?” I mock growled.
He grinned, showing way too much fang. “Why don’t you take your pants off and I can give you a hug that will blow you mind?”
My arousal perfumed the air at his words, but I glared until he sighed, pulling up his tactical pants and buttoning them safely. Well, at least with the illusion of safety. He opened his arms wide and I stepped inside them, appreciating the huge width of his chest because that's as high as my head sat without heels or a step ladder. When he leaned down and put his cheek on top of my head, I melted a little. “It’s good to see you, Love.”
I stepped out of his arms reluctantly. “Let’s go inside. I’m looking forward to sleeping in my own bed.”
X nodded solemnly. “I’m looking forward to sleeping in your bed too.”
I whacked him with the back of my hand but grinned at him over my shoulder as we went inside. Judge grabbed my bags, punching X in the shoulder in some manly display of affection on the way past. I briefly wondered what it would be like if those two ever had sex. Who would top? My vagina did a little Mariachi dance at the thought and I shut it down before anyone got the slightest hint of the direction of my thoughts.
I stepped into my little cottage and sighed happily. It felt like home. Tex bustled in behind me, and my ears picked up the sound of X whispering, “It’s good to see you, Snakelet.” When I looked over my shoulder, the big former Enforcer leaned down and nipped Tex’s earlobe, making him shudder.
Damn. There goes any chance of keeping my arousal under wraps. I hustled to my fridge and pulled out four beers. “Where’s Walker?” I asked Judge, hoping everyone could be diverted from my errant pheromones. Judging from Tex’s hooded gaze, I wasn’t doing a good job.
Judge smiled at me crookedly, coming to take a beer from my hand, leaning down to kiss me softly. “He’s at the station making sure I didn’t fuck anything up too bad in his absence. He said to tell you he’d be over later to make sure you were okay.”
“And Nico?”
X answered this one, though how he knew was beyond me. “He’s making sure Angeline gets resettled and updating the Town Council.” He sauntered closer. “So, it's just the four of us. Whatever could we do?”
