Page 67 of Deadly Vows

His lips find one side of my throat just as his free hand finds my jaw, forcing me to lift my head to give him complete access while he speaks against my pulse. “I want to kill you…so fucking badly…”

Chills form on my flesh as his hand runs from my jaw to my throat to my stomach, pulling me even closer to him. His erection presses against my backside as he moans in pleasure. I release a gasp as his hand drifts between my legs, and he slowly rubs his fingers against my sex.

“But I want to fuck you too,” he murmurs, his tongue finding my ear.

His other hand drifts over my breast, holding me firm as he coaxes arousal out of me. I release a shuddering breath as pleasure overcomes me, and my legs open further to allow him access. His fingers slip inside of me, and I hear him mutter a string of curses as he finds me wet for him.

He moves us to the edge of the bed, his hand moving from within me to grip my thigh, lifting it. And seconds later, I feel the length of his cock rubbing against me, coating himself in my arousal as he speaks.

“You’re so damn sexy,” he murmurs as he slowly enters me.

His shaft fills me pleasurably, forcing me to arch my back as I release a moan. And Luca uses the opportunity to grip my throat, holding me at this angle so that he can look at me while he slowly fucks me from behind.

“You’re just like them. Manipulating me to bend me to your will—making it impossible to make any logical decision when it comes to you,” he growls, thrusting roughly.

I cry out as my inner walls spasm on his length, the pleasure outweighing my logical mind. I can’t think. I can barely breathe from this angle. But it deepens my pleasure as he speeds up.

“I should kill you—both of you, just like I did to his mother. Just like I did to your father.” Luca releases me, and I fall forward on the bed. I turn to face him, expecting him to be lunging to kill me. But he doesn’t.

He crawls over me, his stormy eyes focused on me as he pulls me flush against him, entering me once again. He watches me intensely as I gasp, his gaze darkening.

“But every fucking kill was to protect you. I’m the only one who has killed to protect you, Elise,” he says.

Silence passes between us until he finally thrusts again, eliciting a moan. And as he finds his rhythm, he leans us back on the bed, plunging into me like a madman, forcing cries from my lips. Forcing my hands to cling to his back and my nails to dig in from the pleasure.

I come apart in Luca’s arms, my inner walls spasming wildly around him. My toes curl in pleasure as the feel of him growing harder until he releases inside of me intensifies my orgasm. But he doesn’t pull out of me.

Our breathing is labored as he lifts himself slightly, pushing my hair out of my face. His eyes search mine, and I see the moment he comes to a decision.

“Cross me, and I kill him.”

Chapter Thirty

Elise

Somehow, I have pushed Luca to the brink of his already fragile sanity. I’ve never seen him as disheveled as he was last night. And even still, he managed to threaten me using my brother’s life. After our fight in the car, something snapped in him yesterday, and I have already seen the subtle changes.

“Cross me, and I kill him.”

His words resonate heavily within me. They are all that’s been on my mind this morning. Now that Luca has accepted Enzo into our home as part of his family, there can only be one path for my brother. And I know from the threat last night that Luca has big plans for him, especially after ridding himself of the one obstacle that remained between him and Enzo’s undying loyalty.

Enzo’s mother.

I look up as Luca exits the shower with only a towel wrapped around his waist. He glances at me briefly before walking past me and into the closet. He’s been like this all morning. Even though we had sex last night, he is still angry and distrustful ofme from the combination of events yesterday. And I’m sure my harsh words in the car didn’t help the situation. But something Luca said last night caught my attention.

“I am the only one who has killed for you.”

He’s right. While it has resulted in the deaths of people I thought cared about me, Luca has been the one to protect me from those who would kill me the first chance they got, including my own flesh and blood. And now, he has offered a place in our home to the most threatening of my flesh and blood.

Luca steps out of the closet dressed in all black. He’s quietly fixing the sleeves on his shirt as he makes his way to the door, when I decide to call out to him.

“Luca, we need to talk.” My voice is soft. But I know we are both not ready for this conversation, especially given the turn of events.

“I want to know why you killed her. I want to know what’s been going on between our families for this to happen,” I say.

Luca raises a brow, taking a deep breath as he turns to face me.

“I don’t have time to fight with you about this. And I sure as hell do not owe you an explanation,” he says in irritation.
