A horn blares behind us and when I glance out the back window, I see Lox weave around a car in front of him to stay behind us. Lox had no choice but to follow behind us in Mercy’s rental car. The way he was growling as we left Mercy’s parents packhouse, we all knew he couldn’t be in the same car with her.
“I’m fine. I’m just anxious. Her scent, and my anxiety over not fucking this up is riding me hard. We have no nest. I told you I should have at least started renovating one of—"
“Why? We didn’t have plans for an Omega, Nate.” I lean forward and pat his shoulder. “If Knight had told us Benjamin’s plan, then maybe we could have prepared for this better. But we didn’t expect her to go into heat. To think she’s suppressed her heat this entire time. Is that even safe?” I ask, still pissed that he kept all of that from us for months.
My worry for the woman in my arms outweighs all of that. I understand the need for Omegas to choose their own lives, but the lengths they go to for that control can’t be healthy. There are new developments every day to aid Omegas, and even some Alphas who aren’t happy with their designations, to change and control who they are. Our world is changing, the old ways are being tossed out, and hell, I welcome it. As a society can’t we just accept who we are without all the restraints placed on us? I almost snort with laughter. I guess I should be thankful for my Beta parents once more for teaching me that ultimately, we are all the same.
“And if she refused, we would have been sitting with a nest, left empty with no one to fill it. More importantly, Mercy has to accept herself, heart and soul, Omega or not. We need to help her reconnect with who she once was. To remind her, she is not just an Omega. I guess—” Knight says, then sighs. “Look, I know you are all angry, but I did what I thought was best for the pack at the time. I took one look at Mercy back at her family’s pack house and I knew if I told her the truth about her father she would have run again. I saw an opportunity and I took it.” Knight’s hands grip the steering wheel, his jaw set, as he tries to keep his eyes forward. I know Mercy’s scent is calling to him. Our car will forever be bathed in the sweet-smelling scent of peaches and cream.
“An opportunity for what?” Nate protests. “You can’t possibly be looking at this as a business prospect, Knight. It was never about the business. It was always about us following Mercy’s lead.”
“No! Love, Nate. I was thinking with my heart. You know, the one you complain I no longer possess. I was thinking of our pack. A chance at happiness for all of us!” he shouts, and Mercy groans. I clutch her to my chest as the tree line begins to thicken on either side of us.Finally, home.I hum softly and rock her gently as she whimpers in my arms.
“Trey,” my name a soft plea as she calls to me. She squeezes her eyes tight against the evident pain she’s feeling, her body restless as she squirms in my arms.
“Shhh. . .we are almost there. Everything is going to be OK,” I say as Knight presses the accelerator down as fast as it can go. Nate grips the oh shit handle as he makes a sharp right, taking the access road through the trees towards our home.
“Hurry, but don’t kill us, Knight, damn,” I say through gritted teeth as I brace my knees against the seat to stop from jostling Mercy. The sound of spinning tires on loose dirt and gravel behind us is a clear indication Lox is not too far behind. Mercy’s little rental is not appropriate for off roading, but Lox stays behind us regardless of the slipping and sliding the car is doing on the dirt path. The way they are both driving I am surprised we make it home in one piece. Knight hits his breaks hard, rocking us forward but I take all the impact as Mercy finally opens her eyes.
“Trey. I’m so uncomfortable right now. My skin feels like it’s on fire,” she says as she pulls at the black blazer she’s wearing, attempting to remove it from her body. I gaze down into the face of the woman I’ve loved all my life. Her eyes are mostly black with just a sliver of brown left, they are so dilated. Her beautiful brown skin is flushed and sweaty and her naturally curly hair is plastered to her face. She is a gorgeous mess, and I love her even more for trusting us to take care of her while she’s in this vulnerable state.
“We’re here, Songbird. I am going get you inside and you can get comfortable,” I assure her as Mercy’s rental car slides into the spot beside us, like Lox is taking part in a Fast and Furious movie. The car is barely parked before he opens the door and rushes over to us. Knight blocks him, and Lox sneers at our brother. I watch the stand-off as Nate swings the door open for me.
“Move! She needs us, Knight. Or are you going force her to comply by denying her? Is this some sick form of payback for her rejecting us?” Knight looks shocked at Lox’s words but regains his composure. Lox goes toe to toe with Knight, the Alpha command sharp on his tongue but Knight doesn’t budge. The two of them are equally matched, but right now, Lox is letting his instincts do the talking. If I had access to my hands, I would have pinched the bridge of my nose at the Alpha bullshit going on right now. We don’t have time for this shit.
“I can’t do that, Brother. Now, I am going to ignore everything you just said because I know that our emotions are heightened right now. Take a breath, Lox.” Knight holds his hands up in a placating gesture, pushing his hands outward. “Let Nate and Trey get her inside. You would never forgive yourself if you did something you can’t take back.” Knight turns to address us as I ease out of the SUV with Mercy cradled in my arms. “Listen, Nate, you choose a room and that will be the place we put her until she is able to tell us what she needs. Somewhere small, cosy, and comfortable. Trey, get her a change of clothes—"
“My bag—is—in—trunk,” Mercy manages to whisper, and Lox springs into action. He rushes to the rental and opens the trunk, grabbing Mercy’s luggage from the back and handing it over to Nate. I nod to Knight who is shifting from foot to foot. I know he is struggling but he continues to keep his head in the game for now.
“Lox, you and I need to talk to Stefan about the club. We can’t forget that we have a business to attend to.” Knight points to me. “You have a set tonight, but I think we can make it work without any of us being there for a while.” Lox has his phone in hand, and I can only assume he is talking to Stefan as he steps away from us. Knight watches him walk away and turns to address me.
“Lox will be fine; he just needs distraction,” Knight says as he looks over his shoulder at a retreating Lox. Clearly, he is right. I nod my head as I begin to walk up the path to our packhouse. It has been a dream of mine these past five years that one day we would bring her here. Never did I expect it to be under these circumstances.
Nate planned and built our packhouse, the quintessential cabin in the woods. Rustic with a cottage feel. The three-story home was built completely with found materials. Most of the wood was cut from the local trees surrounding us. The brick cut and carved from a local quarry. It was Nate’s nod to living a naturalistic life, and I was all for it. After Mercy left and we attended the local university, we found this spot by accident as we hiked through the woods one early afternoon. Hiking always reminded us of her, it is a ritual we continue to this day. Mercy loved the forest, and I guess it all just stuck. So, when it came to building our forever home, we placed it in the middle of nowhere, away from prying eyes. Honestly, I think we were all tired of the pitying looks we’d been getting since literally the entire town knew us as the “rejected Alphas”. I couldn’t care less what people think of us. I always knew, deep down, that we would find our way back to her or she to us. This is not ideal in the slightest, but here we all are. Together.
The stone step led up to a wraparound porch. A handmade porch swing sways in the corner as I pass it, carrying Mercy straight through the front door and into the open-plan living room. The wooden exterior is repeated on the inside of the house; the interior walls all polished to perfection with minimal objects adorning them. The furniture, on the other hand was all Knight and Lox; large oversized sectional couches, navy, cream, and dark grey pillows with fluffy throw blankets laying across them make up most of the living room with a massive flat screen television mounted to the wall. A tall brick fireplace creates a focal point in the room, giving it a warm and relaxed ambiance. I can only hope that Mercy will love it just as much as we do, and if she doesn’t, we can change it.
The entire house consists of two offices, five bedrooms and an attic that has the potential for the makings of a nest. Each room has its own attached bathroom with a larger bathroom that can accommodate all of us if we need it to. I even managed to have my own music room down on the ground floor, that also serves as my office where I write and compose my own music.
“Trey. . .please,” Mercy’s voice is strained and muffled as she buries her face in my chest, inhaling my scent as she whimpers against me. My heart lurches at the simple gesture of comfort she is seeking from me.
I clutch her closer as I hurry up the stairs to the second floor where three of the five bedrooms are located. Nate meets me at the top of the landing with a worried look on his face. “I put her in the smallest room, the one that was still empty.” He rushes ahead and opens the door for me. In a matter of minutes Nate had managed to drag a mattress into the room with as many blankets and pillows and cushions he could find.
“These are from each of our rooms. I know she will feel better with all of our scents surrounding her. We might want to replace our own for the time being. In fact, we may as well kiss them goodbye.” He chuckles nervously as I drop to my knees slowly and place Mercy in the middle of the mattress. Her hair falls on either side of her face as she blinks her eyes open to focus on Nate and me.
“Fuck, Merce. Do you know how beautiful you are? Do you know how long I’ve wanted you here in our home, laid out before us, like this? I want all of you, baby girl. I can smell your delicious scent from here and I can’t wait to devour you ass to clit. Will you let Trey and I have that pretty pussy of yours, Omega?” I can hear the lust dripping from Nate’s tongue as his dirty words elicit wanton moans from Mercy. Hell, I can barely contain myself as Nate grips my shoulder hard, using my body as I means to ground himself. Ouch.
“I need you. I need you all, please. Now,” she pleads while writhing on the mattress.
“Then strip for your Alphas, Omega,” I say simply, surprised at my words as my instincts begin to win over any common sense. I flinch thinking Mercy might stall at the mention of her designation, but she goes with it, not complaining in the slightest at the name. She pushes up off the mattress to stand on shaky legs to face us both. God, she’s like a dream.
“Hot. I’m so hot.” She yanks at her blazer, throwing it across the room. I move away from her and take Nate with me as we stand in the doorway to watch her strip out of her clothes without a care in the world. She then proceeds to kick off her shoes, removing her trousers and the cream silk blouse that clings to her skin, revealing a black lace and satin bra. Of course, my more than polite cock takes this moment as his opportunity to stand at attention and salute.
I clear my throat as she looks over at us, eyes glossy, lips parted, waiting. “What do you need, Mercy?” I swallow as my eyes feast on her thick inner thighs, slick with need, her soft belly, and her heavy breasts as she stands before us in just her bra and panties. Her scent permeates the room, making my inner beast rise to the surface. I feel the shift in myself, the primal need to claim her, make her mine as she cums on my knot over and over again.
Mercy doubles over, hissing in pain as her knees hit the mattress, taking deep breaths before she gazes at Nate and I, her eyes wide.
“You. I need you. Please, Alphas.” She whines, eyes imploring. I want her to call us Alphas again, to relish the moment. But my thoughts fly out the window as I act instinctively. It seems Nate and I are both ridden hard by our natures as we both go to her.
