With a sigh, I tossed her over my shoulder and carried her away from everyone.

"Wyatt? Did I do something? Are you mad?"

"Everything's okay, cutie. I just need to talk to you about something real quick."

When I was sure we were alone, I set her on her feet and took her face in my hands.

"That's not the kind of thing to say in front of others," I told her in a gentle tone, then kissed her forehead. "That's only to talk about in private with your mates. Bedroom talk, okay?"

"Oh! Should I apologize to Luke? Did I embarrass him?"

"No, cutie." I chuckled. "He's good, but I didn't wantyouto be embarrassed once you realized you said something in front of him that you shouldn't have."

"All right, Wyatt. Thank you for watching out for me."

I melted at her sweet, earnest face. This girl had my whole heart.

Hiding my smile, I hardened my expression and gave her a stern look.

"Now, Posy, I want an honest answer to this question."

"Of course. I'd never lie to you, Wyatt, or any of my mates."

"Tell me exactly what you and Mase were doing while we were gone." I grinned as red flooded her cheeks again. "And don't youdareleave out a single detail."

32: Get Well Soon

King Julian

Even with their bruised and swollen faces, the twin betas would have been impossible to tell apart if not for the blond highlights one had added to his dark hair.

"Julian? Let me in, please."

My beloved queen put her hands on my back and shoved, and a grin pulled my lips up.

Goddess, I love this woman.

Nyx perked up a little as Lilah's aggression caught his interest.

Pushy mate. Pushy mate is sexy. Jul, tell mate to be pushy in bed tonight.

I snapped the link closed as he projected a steamy image of us dominating our 'pushy' mate. While I was all for it, now was not the time - and I didn't need a tent in my pants while I talked to her family.

With a quick glance, I knew there was no threat in the room. The two guys were in such bad shape, I doubted they could blink without pain, much less hurt my queen. Turning to the side, I reached behind me and slid my hand to the small of Lilah's back, then drew her in front of me.

Her eyes went right to the two hospital beds that were positioned side-by-side, and she slumped against me with a whimper. I quickly wrapped my arm around her waist and held her close to my side.

"Oh, no!" Her voice wobbled and cracked.

"Who are they?" I asked.

"Zayne has the highlights," she sniffed as tears rolled down her cheeks. "His wolf is Delta. Zayden's wolf is Lake. They're twenty-one. Their sister Junie is my best friend."

Not what I was asking, but good information nonetheless. I'd been calling them Highlights and No Highlights in my head, but I didn't think she would appreciate hearing that right now.

"I meant, how are you related to them?" I clarified.

"They're my cousins. My mom and their dad were siblings. Oh, my Goddess, my aunt must be so worried. I hope she and Junie are okay."
