Okay?
Hearing the question in his voice, I explained how the betas each kept a saddlebag of our clothes. The bags were designed especially for their wolves to carry in case we had an emergency. Since we'd shown up at Peri's in wolf form, she'd given us the shorts and t-shirts out of River's bag to wear.
The gray duffel is full of replacement gear she can use to repack it, I finished.
Hey, that's a smart idea, especially for alphas Mason and Cole with their special needs in size,he commented, then chuckled.Just like my darling. Doing his laundry opened my eyes to how much bigger his pants are than mine.
Gelo, I don't need to know that his is bigger than yours, I told him with a smirk.
Why not? I'm secure enough in my own size to brag about his,he laughed.Anyway, Reau and I got the bag and we're in the car now. See you in ten.
We helped Peri clean up and carry her supplies back where they belonged, and Wyatt washed the cups he'd used without even being asked to, and hehatedwashing dishes.
Soon, we heard a vehicle pull in the driveway followed by running footsteps, and Peri opened the front door before Thoreau could knock.
"Well, hello, sweetie!" she cooed. "Did you come to see me?"
"Somebodysaid you had a surprise for me!" He corrected his volume when she winced. "Oops! Sorry, pretty. Inside voice."
That's right. He called Peri pretty. He'd heard Ty call her sunshine and started to copy him, then Emerson had to explain that sunshine was Ty's special name for Peri. Thoreau then decidedheneeded to come up with one for her, too, and pretty was it.
He also called Ty gorgeous, but he couldn't pronounce it right and it came out as george-us, which made the beta blush, scowl, and laugh all at the same time. The first time we witnessed it, Wyatt nearly wet himself giggling, and Ash and I fell on the floor in tears.
This boy is a gift of light to all of us,Mase linked me and our brothers, then added darkly,I should have killed his parents slower and more painfully for abusing and neglecting this precious soul.
What's done is done,I told him,and he's happy and safe with us now. That's what matters.
"Oh, that's right!" Peri drew our attention as she grabbed Thoreau's hand. "Come on. I'll show you what we found."
As they skipped off, Angelo came into the house, dropped the duffel bag inside the door, and handed me my keys. When I asked if he wanted a ride home, he shook his head with a smile.
"Em ran in wolf form to the training center to get my truck. He's going to pick us up and take us home from here. Our baby says he's starving and needs his peabutter sammiches before he falls down anddies."
"Thanks for staying with Posy and helping us out," I said and shook his hand.
"You're welcome." He shook all our hands and only smirked a little. "Good luck, alphas."
"They're going to need it," Peri chimed in as she and Thoreau came back into the room.
Thoreau, holding a big plastic jar full of sticks and leaves, slowly and carefully walked up to Angelo.
I think this is the first time I haven't seen Reau running, Cole linked us, making us all chuckle.
"Papa, Papa, look!" he squealed. "Pretty and george-us said I can have it for the secret fort!"
Papa?!my brothers and I all linked at once.
Yeah, Angelo chuckled, and just wait until you hear Mama Bubba come out of his mouth. Em didn't know whether to laugh or scold him or just accept it.
"What do you have there, Reau?" Ash, of course, had to know.
"No, alpha. You were a bad boy. You don't get to see the praying mantis."
"Aw, but I like interesting bugs!" Ash's bottom lip popped out in a sad pout. "Iamsorry, Reau, and I'm going to apologize to Posy as soon as we get home."
"Then that's a good boy. You want good boy pats or kisses?" Thoreau tilted his head, his beautiful eyes wide and innocent as he stared up at Ash.
"What's a good boy pat?" Wyatt asked me out of the side of his mouth.
