We'll handle it tastefully, Ipromise, Mason said, and I relaxed.

If Mason Price said he was going to do something, he did it.

Satisfied, I snuggled into my fuzzy blanket with a happy smile on my face. Unfortunately, the dinosaurs were quick to wipe it off, and I ended up cowering under my blanket with my hands over my ears because I was, indeed, a baby.

AndI forgot how to work the remote.

"Thanks for the ride," I said as I climbed into Alpha Wyatt's gorgeous black Jaguar.

"Not a problem. I love any excuse to take my baby for a spin." He patted the steering wheel.

Today was my eighteenth birthday, and the luna had invited me over for lunch. Alpha Wyatt had been kind enough to offer me a lift, and I acknowledged that as the treat it was.

He didn't like sharing his toys with anyone, especially his prized Jag. He was famously precious with it. I remembered this one time, he made Alpha Ash walk home from school because he'd skipped a shower after football practice, and Alpha Wyatt didn't want his 'baby' tainted by Alpha Ash's stink.

His words, not mine!

"She is a beauty." Having never been in it before, I couldn't stop admiring the interior. "Bet it handles like a dream."

"Oh, man, you have no idea! And it rides as smooth as glass, no matter how fast you're flying."

"I can't wait until I save enough to get a decent vehicle," I admitted.

"That might be sooner than you think. Have you checked your investment portfolio lately?"

I hadn't. The truth was, I'd forgotten about it. As part of the beta compensation package, Alpha Mason invested half of our first month's paycheck for us. After that, we could decide if we wanted him to take any more out of our wages to continue to invest, or just let that small seed grow.

At the moment, I was letting the small seed grow, too nervous to risk anything until I had some more zeros in my bank account.

"It's only been a month," I reminded Alpha Wyatt.

"Yeah, I guess you're right. Let it ride for a year. Bet you'll have enough by then to get just about any car you want."

"I'm looking forward to that," I agreed with a grin.

Find mate today, River whispered, dancing excitedly on his tippy toes.

Don't worry about that right now, Riv,I told him, keeping my tone light. We're going to have cake and ice cream with the luna and alphas. Won't that be fun?

Distraction accomplished, I could tune back in to what Alpha Wyatt was saying.
