"But you probably won't even pick a toy." I pooched out my bottom lip.
I neither need nor want a toy,he sneered the last word.
"Would you rather stay here?" I sighed and dropped my eyes. "I guess I can take the pups by myself—"
No, I'm coming along! Jayden, I will shift now and ride in the back with the pups.Someonehas to keep them from jumping out and chasing the first cat they see.
Hey!Granite yelped.I only did that once!
Once was enough!Quartz snapped and turned to me.Little mate, I will pick a toy because you desire it, but don't expect me to everplaywith it.
I nodded and turned my face back into Mason's chest because I couldn't hide my satisfied grin.
You're amazing, Peri linked. You know how to handle each one of them.
I'm learning,I told her.You seem to be just as amazing at managing Ty and River.
I'm learning,she echoed with a chuckle.
"Luna," Tristan said, "I don't think they're going to let you in the toy shop with a wolf, let alone five of them."
"Six," Tyler corrected. "Riv's demanding a toy now, too. Per, let's go along and you can help the luna wrangle her sled dog team."
"And we'll go to the pet store, not the toy shop. Crew," Mason looked at the beta, "link Bel Aire and let him know we're coming in wolf form with our luna."
"Then we're coming, too," Matthew and Sara said in unison, then looked at each other and scowled.
"The more, the merrier," I giggled.
Crawling over to Sid, I wrapped my arms around my fluffy baby.
"If something bad ever happens again, don't hide it from me, okay?" I kissed the top of his head. "I won't be mad, and there's nothing you could ever do to make me hate you."
Sid pwomise. Sid will be good boy. Sid will be mate's good boy always and always.
"Oh, my heart, you already are."
13: Toys!
Quartz
Wonder of wonders, no one jumped, fell, or was pushed out of the truck bed on our way to the pet store.
Seems like a good omen, but only time will tell.
After Mason shifted and we gathered around her, Posy said we could have twenty minutes to look around the store before meeting up in the toy section. Then she handed Topaz over to Sara and Crew, most likely hoping the beta's calm nature would help with Paz's hyper one.
Sid and River wouldn't be separated, so Peri was stuck with both babies. I didn't think they'd be much of a problem, though. They'd be on the hunt for someone to pet them, and the parking lot was half full of cars, so there should be plenty of opportunities for that. Just in case no human customers obliged, however, the young shifters employed here would be delighted to play with their alphas’ and Beta Tyler’s wolves.
Posy asked Granite to go with Tristan and Ariel, recognizing that they were more mature than Matthew and Maria, whom everyone now referred to as M&M. Gran was probably going to be the hardest manage, so he needed a firm hand, which Tristan and Ariel could provide without becoming sarcastic, like Sara would, or a puddle of giggles, like M&M would. Personally, I believed she was sending Garnet with M&M to supervisethem.
As for me, I would go with our mate.
Thank the Goddess for that.
Things got a little sticky when she passed around collars and leashes. With a sour frown, I put a paw up and slowly shook my head as she knelt in front of me with a blue collar in her hand.
"You won't be able to go in without it." She pointed to the sign on the door. "What if you carry your own leash? Will that make it tolerable?"
