"Mmm. Does that turn my little cupcake on?" His long fingers kneaded my bum. "Hearing what I'm going to do to you? Will you come if I describe how I'm going to spread these soft cheeks and—"

Ash!Wyatt rumbled through the link. You've been with our girl all day! Help me finish this so I can play with her, too!

"Sorry, Posy." Ash removed his hands as he nuzzled my mate mark. "I'll be back."

"Ash!" I whined, wobbling a little as he stepped away from me.

He giggled as he ran out of the kitchen, and my eyes narrowed. That rat knew what he'd done.

You know anything about revenge, waffle?I linked him as I continued looking for something to cook.

Um, what do you mean, dearest mate whom I love with all my heart?he tittered nervously.

I've always heard that revenge is a dish best served cold, but I never really understood that. Hmm. Maybe that means your part of the bed will be cold tonight?

Posy, my love, sweetheart, darling, I—

And I closed the mate link.

That right, girl,Lark giggled. Let him stew! Leaving you wet and needy! He deserve the blue balls you going to give him tonight.

Well, I probably won't be able to resist him for long,I admitted, but I can give him a good scare first, right?

Right!

As I worked on dinner, Ariel and Maria linked me, and I heard the front door open. The smell of pine wafted into the kitchen, making me smile.

Cole was home!

Ariel and Maria visited me in the kitchen for a few minutes, then left when Cole called me into the living room. Snapping off the stove so dinner wouldn't burn, I washed my hands and dried them, then went to see my mate.

"Hi, Cole!" I grinned as I ran up to him. "I'm so glad you're back! I missed you."

Throwing my arms around his waist, I squeezed him, but then realized he was just standing there like a statue, not hugging me back. Confused, I dropped my arms and took a step away, tilting my head as I stared up at his blank face.

"Cole?"

"We need to talk."

His voice was surprisingly cold, and a bad feeling swept through me. Growing steadily more anxious, I looked around the living room.

Tristan stood with the front door hanging open behind him, and his eyes were fogged over as he linked someone. On the other side of the room, Ash and Wyatt sat shoulder to shoulder on the love seat. Their heads were down and their eyes fixed on their clasped hands.

What's going on here?

I tried to open my links with them, but they were all locked down tight. I checked Jayden's, then Mason's and found they were fine. In fact, they both responded immediately.

Sorry, Posy, I can't talk long,Jayden said. Is it an emergency? We're literally attacking the prison right now.

Something's not right, I told him, my uneasy feeling growing. Give me a minute.

Are you in danger? Where are my brothers?he demanded.

I don't think so. And they're here. Focus on what you're doing.

Jay, I got it,Mason told us both.I'm just driving. We're about an hour from home.

All right. I love you, Posy,Jayden said, then closed his link.
