Page 84 of Pack: Posy 3

"Posy?" Cole asked.

"She went to take a nap. She said she'd be in her special room." He raised his eyebrow in question.

Jay explained it to him in a few quick sentences while I checked the mate link.

"She's already asleep, curled up with Mr. Nibbles," I said after Dr. York finished praising us for providing her with a safe place.

We knew he wouldn't have all the answers, and might need a few more sessions before he even had some suggestions, but we all hoped he hadsomethingfor us today.

We were desperate to help our girl in any way we could. She was in so much pain, and we didn't even realize it until that first panic attack the next night after the parasite incident.

Talk about heartbreaking.

I ended up going wolfy for a couple of hours, and Mason found me passed out in the forest the next morning. When I questioned Granite, he assured me he'd only gone for a run.

It was that or kill someone, he shrugged, and I thanked him for being smart enough to choose the run.

"Well, doctor?" Mase broke the silence.

"Before we get to that, I'd like to request permission for my mate and I to join Five Fangs." Dr. York scrubbed his hands over his face and sank back in his chair.

"That bad, huh?" Cole grimaced.

"Between you five, your luna, Spring, and Thoreau Jones, I don't see my work ending here for years - and that's not taking into consideration any other member of your vast pack who may be in need of counseling or therapy."

"You want to leave a royal post to come here and work?" Ash asked incredulously.

"My mate and I are tired of shuffling through the kingdom every few months." He shrugged. "It was fine when we were younger, but I'm forty-three now. My mate is forty. We want a pack to settle down in, maybe adopt some pups who need a good home."

"What kind of work does your mate do?" I asked.

"He's a teacher. He's certified in middle and high school math. Everything from pre-algebra to trigonometry."

Hey! Our first teacher for Posy's school, Jay linked us, and we all smiled or nodded in agreement.

Dr. York was saying something more about moving here, but my ear caught the sound of footsteps pattering overhead.

Posy's awake already?I frowned. I wanted her to rest longer, seeing as she hadn't gotten much sleep the past few nights.

One of you please help me?Lark linked us.

Sure, little wolf, I answered before any of my brothers could. What's up?

I stuck on stairs.

I got you.

Standing up, I left the room and found Lark-in-Posy's-body frozen on the second step down, her fists clutching the railing, and I hustled up to her.

"I scared to go any further," she murmured. "I still clumsy in this body."

"It's okay, little wolf. I'll always help you." With a smile, I reached for her, then stopped. I couldn't watch her go through another panic attack. "Um, is it okay to pick you up?"

"Of course. Posy sleeping, and I no have same issue she does."

My lips pinched together in a grim line, but I nodded and scooped her up and took a calming inhale of her scent as I carried her down the stairs and into the living room.

"Ah, here she is." Dr. York grinned broadly. "The smart little wolf who has an idea that might help your mate."
