Posy

It was late morning before I woke up in a nest of pillows and blankets.

"I have something for you, cutie."

Rolling onto my side, I saw Wyatt sitting cross-legged next to me and holding out a white envelope. My heart skipped a beat because I knew what was in it.

I held the blanket to my chest as I sat up. If Wyatt saw my girls, I knew we wouldn't get out of bed for another hour.

"Thank you." I took the envelope from him with a smile. "You guys don't have to keep apologizing. I understand why you reacted as you did and already forgave you because you regretted it."

"It's okay to say sorry more than once for the same sin." He shrugged. "We want you to understand that we're sincere. And we know that riding herd on five idiots can be a daunting task. Let us make it up to you."

I reached up and cupped his jaw in my palm.

"I love you, Wyatt."

"I love you, too, cutie. Now please open my card, and then we'll get breakfast. Well, maybe brunch by now. Shoot! I wanted to take you somewhere special for lunch. If we eat brunch, you won't be hungry enough to—"

"I'm fine waiting for lunch at the special place," I hushed him. "We need to shower and clean up and pack our paintings in your car, anyway. It'll be lunch time before all of that, won't it?"

"Pretty close. I do need to take you to one more place, though, before lunch, so we'd better get this show on the road."

I frowned when he said heneeded, notwanted,to take me somewhere, and curiosity bit at me. Knowing he wouldn't tell me even if I begged, I told myself I'd find out soon enough and opened the envelope.

The beautiful painted pansy on the cover made my eyes sting with tears, and the words he wrote inside made those tears fall.

"My fifth star," I read his signature, then looked up at him. "You are precious and perfect to me, too, Wyatt."

I threw myself at him, and we hugged for a long time until he stood up with me in his arms and carried me into the bathroom.

"Get a shower, sweet girl," he told me. "I need to run out to the car and grab your bag from your date with Mase. It has your toothbrush and toiletries in it. I'll be right back. Oh, and I left a bag of clothes for you in the bedroom."

"Thank you."

I kissed his cheek and he kissed mine, then I shooed him out of the bathroom before he got any ideas. I was going to need a nap this afternoon, especially if my next date was with Ash or Cole. Wyatt had worn me out, and both of those boys would do the same.

Maybe it will be my sweet dragon, I thought with a yawn as I turned on the shower and waited for the water to heat up.I know he'd like nothing more than to curl up together with a good book or movie and would probably fall asleep before I did.

When we were finally ready to leave, it was eleven o'clock, and Wyatt said my next date would just have to wait if we weren't done eating lunch by one. I told him that wasn't very nice, but he said he would make it up to his brother, although he wouldn't tell me which one.

"Give me a clue," I begged as we headed down the highway in his speedy car. "And tell me if I guess right."

"No."

"Wyatt!"

"No."

"Come on!"

"No." He looked at me over the tops of his mirrored sunglasses. "No means no, cutie."

I crossed my arms over my chest and popped out my bottom lip.

"There's no use pouting about it." He shrugged and turned off onto a side road that seemed like a private driveway. "I'm not going to give in. I'm not Ash or Cole to fall for your poochy lip."

He brought the car to a stop, but I was too busy giving him puppy dog eyes to look where we were.
