I was quiet as I thought about everything he said, then I asked Lark what she knew about this, which was little to nothing, although she said she'd talk to her wolves and see what they had to say.
"Wyatt," I said at last, "the next time this happens, I want to know and observe so I can understand better, okay?"
"Okay." He nodded. "So you're not freaking out. I'm not sure what to do because you're not freaking out. I half-expected I'd need to chase you down and give you a sedative."
"Silly boy." I stepped out of his arms and frowned up at him. "Now, let's talk about the real issue. What makes you get overwhelmed?"
"Well, remember you were talking about how, um, how easy it was to hurt my heart yesterday?" His cheeks flushed pink, and I thought it was cute that he was embarrassed to talk about this part of himself. "Yeah. So things like that cause it to happen. Anyway, I'll be learning healthier ways to cope during my sessions with Dr. York, so hopefully, going wolfy will soon be a thing of the past."
"When's the first time it happened, Wyatt?" I could make a guess, based on where we were, but I wanted to be sure.
"When my dad—" his voice cut out, and I nodded, sad that I was right, but not surprised.
Looping one arm around my shoulders, he pulled me close again and kissed my forehead, his lips lingering for a long time as wet drops fell from his cheeks onto mine.
Oh, my poor, darling boy. How full of pain you are.
We going to help him, Lark murmured.Granite say we already are.
"And you have no more secrets to reveal now, right?" I asked Wyatt.
"That was all of them. And you're still here. You didn't leave screaming." His grin suddenly turned naughty. "Then again, I know for a fact that you only scream when you're coming."
"Wyatt Black!" I hissed and slapped his chest. "That is private talk for the bedroom!"
"Look around, cutie! There's no one. We're in the middle of a field surrounded by forests. Speaking of which," he waggled his eyebrows at me, "how about you get naked again? We have enough time for me to do something I've been wanting to do for a long while."
"What are you talking about?" My eyes nearly burst out of their sockets in disbelief. "You did it almost all night last night! What do you—"
"What areyoutalking about?" He gave me an innocent look, but I saw the mischief sparkling in his silver-shot blue eyes. "I only want you to shift and let me play with Lark for a bit."
"Grr! You better start running, Wyatt Shawn Black!" I huffed. "When I let her out, I'm going to tell her to bite you on the bum!"
"Huh. And here I thought Ash was the only one with a bum kink."
"AAARRGGHH!"
Wyatt’s Letter:
Dear Posy,
I’m sorry for ruining your moment in the sun. I was afraid for you, and that made me lose my temper when I should have been lifting you as high as you wanted to fly.
I hate myself for hurting you. You are the most perfect and precious person in my life, and I love you. Please forgive me.

I woke up around seven, reached for Posy, and frowned when my arms didn't find her hidden among the covers or being smothered by Wyatt or Cole.
Oh. Yeah. Right.I frowned, but then remembered that today was my date and smiled.
More cheerful now, I rolled out of bed and headed for the bathroom, but was careful not to wake up Cole. He'd been a real bear lately, and I knew it was because he missed our girl. We all did, but he had the longest wait of us all, so it was understandable that his short temper was even shorter than usual.
Let the grump sleep, muttered my own grump.
