"Reau sees it as something else," she giggled. "I'm glad Arch and Wayne like him so much. It makes me happy to know he has friends who are good to and for him."
The next trouble trio, Wyatt muttered in the link.Goddess only knows what chaos will ensue in school this year. I just hope they keep our girl out of their mischief.
I nodded in agreement.
"Now that Peri's mated, I can see this babysitting thing getting to be an issue," Wyatt griped.
"Don't you like spending time with your little brothers?" Posy asked with a frown.
"Of course I do! We all do. They're a lot of fun, and we miss out on a lot with them, but as alphas, we're swamped most of the time," Wyatt explained.
"Today is a rare exception, but even that had a bunch of interruptions," I added. "For the most part, Wade is at training or running through the woods with his buddies. They all got their wolves in the past couple of months, and he pretty much takes care of himself like Arch and Wayne."
"And the heathens just need to be kept busy or they get into trouble," Wyatt said. "They like building blocks and race cars and sports, which is right up our alley, but we just don't have the time to give them. That was another reason we were happy you said you wanted to wait for pups. We need a couple of years to organize a few things, then we'll have more time to dedicate to a family."
Posy's cheeks flushed pink when he started talking about pups and a family, and I smiled to myself.
"Wesley's the one I worry about," Wyatt continued, and I silently agreed. "I hope Mom and Dad are done after this last pup. Don't get me wrong. I love the little guys so much, but Wesley often gets overlooked because the heathens take a lot of energy and attention. He takes it in stride and is chill about it, but we try to do special things with just him once in a while."
"Hopefully, this next one won't be so high maintenance," I sighed as I thought about how much energy it took to keep up with William and Winnie - and I was only nineteen! I didn't know how Mom and Dad, both in their late thirties, did it.
"Does Dad help out?" Posy asked.
"Oh, yeah," I said. "He's great with them, but his time isn't always his own, either. He runs a full-time businessandhelps us out with the pack. He takes the older three with him to the garage a lot and sometimes Wesley, but Wesley's not as interested in cars as the rest of them, and the heathens are too young. So when Dad's busy and Mom needs to do something or go somewhere she can't take them, she needs a sitter."
"And Peri was the built-in, go-to sitter? Poor Peri! No wonder she wants to wait a few years for her own pups!"
"That, and Ty's obsessed with making sure he can provide for a family," I said. "He wants to have a nice nest egg in his savings before they have their first one."
"I can relate to that since I never had any money, either. You get a little paranoid about it." She bit her lip as she stared at the table. "I tried to give them some to get what they needed for their house, but they wouldn't let me, and Mason told me they wouldn't accept any from him, either. I understand, but I wish they didn't have to struggle just starting out."
"Mase is going to go more aggressive with Ty's investment portfolio." I patted her thigh reassuringly. "He'll make sure they won't have to worry about money soon enough."
"Hopefully, he'll get as lucky as he did with us!" Wyatt chirped.
"Hopefully," Posy and I said together, then giggled at each other.
"Wait a minute." Wyatt held up his hand. "I thought Cole was pow-wowing with the White Pelt alpha today."
"He did. Grace is staying, and her alpha has nothing to say about it."
"What?" Wyatt asked right as Posy asked, "Why?"
"Something amazing happened this morning." I was so excited to share the news, I did a very Ash-esque wiggle in my seat. "First, guess what the witches found out?"
"What?" Posy's eyes widened with interest.
"Nia wasn't really Landry's mate!" I chuckled as both of their jaws dropped. "Part of the curse she cast, or had cast on him, included faking they were mates."
"That's a major bit of spell work," Wyatt whistled.
"It is. The witches want to track down the dark witch and have Gelo deal with her after they ask a few questions." I was almost vibrating with excitement to tell them the best part. "Anyway, Grace was with us while Cole tried to call Alpha Rimskyagain.Oak sensed something was up and came barrelling back to the alpha offices and—"
"Don't tell me she's—" Wyatt understood it before our girl did.
"Yes! She's hisrealmate!" I squealed, unable to hold it in any longer.
"She is?!" Posy gasped with wide, happy eyes. "Oh, that's wonderful! I really liked her, even though I only met her once."
