"It's amazing how the Goddess' hand works," I said as I shook my head. "If Grace hadn't been captured by those humans, if Poppy had never escaped and found Five Fangs, and if we didn't raid that prison and bring Grace to our pack, then she and Landryneverwould have found each other. They would have lived their whole lives without their Goddess-given mates."
"A true miracle," Wyatt agreed with a big grin.
"I bet Landry was so happy!" Posy bounced in her seat and clapped her hands. "That just leaves Nick, Reuben, and Adam!"
"Little matchmaker," I teased her.
"I just want everyone to be as happy as we are." She gave me a smile so sweet, it stole my breath. "Where will they live? I think I remember one of you saying Landry lived with his older sister?"
"As with the betas, we gift our gammas with an available property of their choice when they find their mates," I explained. "It's the least we can do for those who do so much for us."
"I'm so proud of you guys! You're the best alphas in the world. You care about your betas and gammas as if they were family."
"They are," Wyatt and I said at the same time, even shrugging in unison, which made her giggle.
After that, we focused on enjoying lunch with our mate. Even though it was a result of Wyatt's poor time management, I wouldn't have wanted to miss this with them.
Watching Posy's face was more entertaining than any show the chef could have put on. The onion volcano made her gasp and clap, and she caught the shrimp when the chef flicked it to her, just as Wyatt predicted she would. As for Wyatt, he sparkled with cheerfulness. Not the unhealthy, fake kind, either, when he made jokes to distract himself from whatever was bothering him and everyone else from noticing.
And I was happy for him. Maybe hewastelling the truth when he said it was all good, although I wondered how he kept Granite from spilling the beans. That wolf was lousy at keeping secrets.
Finally, we left the restaurant, and Wyatt asked us to wait while he fetched her toiletry bag from his car.
"What are we doing for our date, my dragon?" Posy asked as she hugged my arm and smiled up at me. "Do I need a change of clothes? Wyatt picked this dress for me to wear."
"It's a surprise, and you look perfect, sweetness," I murmured, leaning down and kissing her forehead.
"Thank you." Her pink cheeks made me chuckle.
Still so pure and innocent.
And she always will be, Quartz agreed.
Wyatt trotted back with her little bag and handed it to me, then pecked her cheek.
"Time for you to bid us farewell, brother," I told him with a fist bump.
Bid us farewell?Quartz snorted. You're such an old man.
Oh, shoosh. You're such a curmudgeon.
You should be grateful that I'm mature and intelligent enough to know what a curmudgeon is. You'd be explaining for an hour if I were Sid or Gran or Topaz.
And I had to snicker at that.

As soon as she stepped into the alpha library, her jaw dropped and her eyes grew wider and wider. She spun around, trying to take in everything at once, and I giggled.
"We're here until tomorrow, sweetness," I reminded her. "You have plenty of time to look around, and you can come back whenever you want to. No one will bother you, either. Only Ty and I come here."
"It's amazing," she breathed. "Like out ofBeauty and the Beast!"
"Well, what's that expression? Marry the Beast and get the library?" I teased and grabbed her around the waist with a little growl. "You have five beasts, so the least you should get is five libraries."
"How are they organized?" she asked as she snuggled against me.
"Poorly at the moment, I'm afraid," I admitted. "When Mase ordered this place built, he asked if I'd be interested in being in charge of it, and I said yes, of course. I enlisted Ty to help, as I originally planned to make him the librarian here."
