It’s been a couple of weeks since I messaged Matt, and I haven’t heard anything. To be fair, I haven’t messaged him either. I’ve been extremely busy with work, and in my free time, I’ve been either going on walks with Pepin or scrolling on a dating app B forced me to sign up for. So far, nothing has come out of it. I’m pretty picky, and B reassures me that’s not a bad thing.

I’m currently sitting in the living room watching a show with Pepin and B when my phone dings on the coffee table. I lean forward to pick it up. When I see it’s Matt, my heart starts to beat a little faster.
