The world spun behind Brooklyn’s closed eyes, and when she finally opened them, smoky gray ones sparkled back at her. “Do you have any idea how beautiful you are when you come?”
Her cheeks heated. “Uh … no.”
He smiled and kissed her nose. “You put all other women to shame, Brooklyn.” He pulled away and stepped into the cascading water, wetting his hair and pushing it back from his face.
Brooklyn watched him, his taut muscles rippling with every motion. He was tan from head to toe, which could only meant he sunbathed nude. She licked her lips, picturing his perfect body lying on the beach for any and all eyes to see. The man was better than ice cream, and for right now, he was all hers. Every. Delectable. Inch.
“Drool’s dripping from your mouth.” Channing smirked and reached out to brush her lower lip. “See something you like?”
“Yes. He’s standing before me.” Brooklyn wrapped her arms around him. “Are we going to continue our sexcapades back at my cottage?”
He bent to kiss her. “I wish, babe. I really do, but I have to start shooting photos tonight.”
Brooklyn’s shoulders dropped with disappointment. “Oh. Okay.”
“I promise tomorrow night we can. That is, if you still want to see me tomorrow night.” He pushed her hair back and tilted her chin upward. “You might find another stud to live out your fantasies with between now and then.”
“Anything’s a possibility.” She smiled. “But anticipation increases sexual pleasure. I think I can hold out one night.”
He grabbed her hand and led her back to the larger portion of the small recess. The day suddenly turned night as the sun started to fade away. Brooklyn and Channing swam to the side and climbed out, dressing in their discarded clothing.
“I want to have dinner with you tomorrow. The resort has a nice seafood restaurant on the south side that has the best salmon ever. Will you meet me there tomorrow?”
As they walked toward her cottage, Brooklyn noticed for the first time the eclectic group of people who shared the island with them. Several were out taking in the light salty breeze, relishing the comfortable temperature now that the sun had gone down.
“I would like that on one condition.” They stopped in front of her cottage door. She reached up to cup the back of his head and pulled him down for a kiss. “You have to buy me dessert.”
Channing smiled, his face inches from hers, and moved to kiss her again. “Babe, I promise to give you all the dessert you can handle.”
