“Like what?” He smoothed his hands along her arms.
“I don’t know.” She laid her cheek against his chest. “I want to get out of the city for a few hours.”
“I can’t leave the city right now.” He kissed her ear. “But we can definitely do something together. Something that involves no clothes and a lot of licking.”
She pushed away. “That’s not what I meant. I want to do something fun. Something that we don’t normally do.”
“Like what?”
“I don’t know.” Ella glanced over at him. “Derek said that Atlanta had this Porsche driving experience. You get to take a Porsche on the track. It sounded fun.”
“You want a Porsche to replace your car?”
Ella cringed. “Crap. I forgot about my car. Never mind. Looks like I get to spend the day at the mechanic’s.”
“We can do both.”
She shook her head. “It’s okay. I need reliable transportation more than driving my dream car around the track.”
“Your dream car?”
“Yeah.” She shrugged. “Thanks to my dad, I developed a love for fast cars.”
Ryker smiled. “I didn’t know this.”
“I’m not as boring as you think.”
“I don’t think you’re boring.” He kissed her cheek. “Stop saying that.”
“I think you do. Sometimes.”
He didn’t say anything, and Ella felt embarrassed about it. He said she never had to do anything for his attention, but she thought she did. She worked and slept; there was very little excitement on a daily basis.
“I can take you to bed and prove you wrong.”
She shrugged.
He stood and wrapped his arm around her waist. “Today, you and me have a date with the bed and then we’re going to get your car fixed. Your next day off, we’re going to do something special. Out of the city.”
She glanced over her shoulder at him. “What are we going to do?”
“Overnight date.” He led her down the hall to the bedroom. “Trust me, it’s going to be fun.”
“Are you serious?”
“Yes.” He tugged the edges of the towel loose. “I don’t think we’ve actually been on a date. Not a real one, anyway.”
“I made you a ham and cheese sandwich the first night you came over to my apartment. That was a date.”
Pulling the terry cloth from her body, he dropped it to the ground. “I stand corrected.”
He leaned down and circled her nipple with the tip of his tongue before gently pulling it into his wet mouth. Ella ran her fingers through his hair as she closed her eyes. Ryker backed up to the bed and lowered her onto it. He hooked his fingers in her pants and tugged them down and off her body.
Someone knocked at the door, beating their fist hard against the wood.
Ryker stopped and glanced to the side. “What the fuck is wrong now?”
Ella lay there. “Club business?”
