Chapter Six
Ryker woke around ten and decided to get Ella’s car fixed first. She was up and on her computer with her phone pressed to her ear. She hadn’t put on makeup or fixed her hair and instead had it pulled back into a messy and sexy as hell ponytail. She also wore her black rectangular-rim glasses.
He grabbed his phone from the kitchen counter and called his mechanic. He knew how to fix cars, but he didn’t have the means for buying the parts quite like one of his friends.
“Hey, Ryker. It’s been a long time, man.” Mike voice instantly made Ryker smile. They’d been friends for years, and he was one of the few people outside the club that Ryker trusted.
“Yeah, it has.” He poured himself a mug of coffee. “I need to get my girl’s car fixed. Can you work it in today? She needs it by this afternoon for work.”
“Sure. Do you know what’s wrong with it?”
“She says battery. I don’t know. It’s a white Toyota. Around ten years old. Has over one hundred thousand miles.”
“Yeah, okay. Do you need me to tow it?”
“Yes. It’s at the hospital. I don’t know where exactly, but I can meet you there.”
“Sure. I’ll send my boy over there to pick it up now. We’ll get it figured out.”
“Great. See ya in a bit.”
Ryker hung up and grabbed the mug from the coffee machine.
“Who are you meeting up with?”
“My mechanic. He’s sending his tow truck to pick your car up.” Ryker turned around to face her, sipping his coffee. “Who where you talking to?”
“My boss.” She sighed. “The security thing with the hospital is worse than yesterday. Now the keycards don’t work and they need to redo the log-in information. It’s a pain in the ass.”
“Do you need to go?”
“Yes. Can you give me a ride?”
“That’s where I was headed. You need to show me where you parked your car anyway.”
“Can you stay with me? I hope it won’t take too long, but you never know. I may have to donate blood and sacrifice a virgin to get my security badge working.”
He smiled and sipped his coffee. “I can stay. I’ve got to deal with some club business later, but you can have me this morning.”
“Ooh. You make it sound dirty.” She wrapped her arms around him. “Speaking of dirty…how did you sleep last night?”
He cupped the side of her face and kissed her. “Like the dead.”
Ella smiled. “I thought so. I got up and you weren’t ogling me like you normally do. I figured you were dead to the world.”
He wrapped his arms around her. “I love you.”
“Yeah, right.”
He stared into her eyes. “You don’t think I do?”
She slipped her hands into his shorts. “You love me when we have great sex. What if it’s horrible? Would you still love me then?”
“I don’t think horrible sex is possible with you.” He leaned down to kiss her lips. “But yes, I would.”
“What about no sex?” She arched an eyebrow.
“Why would we not have sex?”
