Suddenly, we pull up in front of a small log cabin. I know we were driving slowly because of the snow and it being dark, but I feel like we got here too fast. I’m disappointed my staring time has ended. But if I’m lucky, we could get snowed in and I’ll get to spend days getting to know my mate on a more personal level.

Chapter 5

Mia

Why?Whydidtheyall have to be so freakinghot? Bennett’s the tallest, at least six and a half feet, while Mason and Riley aren’t much shorter. Probably six foot and five-ten, respectively. Bennett has dark shaggy hair and a short, full beard I want to ride… I mean… It looks soft… Yeah. That’s it. His blue eyes are like ice as they watch my every move while we pack their things.

Mason has this whole hot nerdy thing going on with his short, floppy black hair and chocolate eyes hidden behind a pair of black-framed glasses. AndRiley, that damn flirt. He’s so adorably handsome, I had a hard time not staring. He has brown hair and blue eyes like Bennett, but that’s where the similarities end. Riley’s eyes have a permanent glint in them and he always seems to be smiling. He has a short scruffy beard, but it doesn’t look like it’s intentional like Bennett’s, just overgrown and he hasn’t gotten around to shaving yet.

Being in that tent with them was hard… No. Nothard.Difficult. Nothing washardin that tent. At least that’s what I’m telling myself, otherwise I might cave and accidentally on purpose fool around with my brother’s best friends. And that can’t happen. No matter how drool-worthy they are. So although I saw the hungry look in all of their eyes as I took off my jacket in that heated tent, I berated myself for even thinking about them that way and quickly got to work helping them pack their shit.

I should have known Mason wouldn’t just leave their camp set up and run away from the coming storm. Thank fuck, it didn’t take long for all of us to get everything torn down and loaded in their Jeep. I’m sure he’ll be pissed when he sees how we packed the tent, but that’s not my problem. Bennett and Riley can deal with that fallout on their own. But now we’re in the warm Jeep and driving towards my cabin. Bennett is a ‌skilful driver. This service road isn’t that easy to navigate, especially if you don’t know where you’re going. But despite the dark sky and snow falling heavier and heavier, he’s doing an amazing job following my directions, staying on the road (if you can call it that), and avoiding any debris in the way.

I can feel Riley’s eyes on me the entire drive, but I studiously ignore him, staring out the windshield, watching the snow fall harder and harder. We finally pull into my driveway and I jump out, not waiting for any of the guys. I’m hoping I can get just ten seconds alone to compose myself before they fill my small home with their overwhelming presence. Being in such a confined space with them in the Jeep was almost too much. I’ve been fighting this nearly uncontrollable urge to climb into one of their laps and have my way with them. I don’t even care who.

The cold air serves to cool my raging libido enough for me to walk steadily to my door and open it, letting the three alluring men into my home. I’ve never had a man I was attracted to in here, and I can’t help but wonder what they think when they look around my small cabin. It’s nothing special. Just a small one-bedroom cabin in the woods. But it’s always been enough for me.

The inside comprises an open floor plan with the living room and kitchen on either side of the door, and a short hallway that leads to the only bathroom and my bedroom. The living room is to the right with a worn, comfy couch, a wooden coffee table, the only TV, and my oversized chair in front of the bay windows. Directly across from the living room, to the left of the door, is the eat-in kitchen. There’s a small table with four chairs that I never use, a full-size stainless steel refrigerator that’s thankfully full for once otherwise we may starve if we’re stuck here long, and hardwood counters running along the length of two walls stopping where the fridge is just before the table.

I need a freaking drink, so I turn to the kitchen. My body’s overheating again as I swear I feel eyes burning into me as my new house guests no doubt stare at my ass as I walk away from them. I grab a glass from the cabinet and fill it with cold water from the pitcher in the fridge. After gulping down several mouthfuls, I spin around to find all three of them staring at me.

“Right. This is my home. I have a feeling we’ll be here for a while, so make yourself comfortable. I’m going to call Alex and let him know you’re safe and sound. If there’s anything in the Jeep you think you may want over the next few days, I’d go get it now before it gets too bad out there.”

“Thank you. We appreciate your hospitality,” Mason speaks for the group. Bennett is too busy glaring at me in confusion and Riley looking at me like the hungry wolf instead of the cute little bunny I know he is.

I shake my head to clear the lustful thoughts and set my glass down. Mason is nice enough to step out of the way as I walk past to the hallway leading to my room, but there’s not enough room for me to get by without brushing up against Riley. It’s the first time I’ve touched any of them and though it was a graze through the thin barrier of my jacket, a spark shoots down my arm and my whole body warms at the contact. I don’t pause to see if he felt it too. I just run for my room like a chicken.

I close myself in my room, locking the door behind me, thankful I didn’t drop my bag by the door like I normally do, so I don’t have to go back out there to get my phone. I just need a minute alone… That’s all. As soon as I get off the phone, I'll go back out there. I will. Really. I’m not typically one to shy away from uncomfortable conversations and I’ve always been able to talk to Alex about anything, but ‌I pace my room, my thumb hovering over the call button.

Come on, Mia. Just call him. Keep it short and sweet. Hey, Bro. We’re back at my place. Everyone’s safe. Don’t worry about us. We’ll be just fine. Stay cool and he won’t even notice you’re anxious for no reason. Nope. No reason to be anxious at all. Just three hot guys in my home for who knows how long. It’s fine. I can handle this. I’m a strong, confident woman. I can totally resist their sweet temptation… I’m so screwed.

With that lovely little pep talk, I hit call and bring my phone up to my ear as it rings. It rings three times before he finally answers.

“Hey, Sis! Everything okay?”

“Of course. Why wouldn’t it be?”

“Ummm, because you just presumably flew out in a blizzard to find my friends?”

“Right. Yeah. I did. Yup. Found them. They’re here. In my cabin. All safe and sound. Nothing to worry about,” I ramble. Well shit. That’s not very convincing.

“Riiight… Well, I’m glad you found them. They didn’t give you any trouble, did they?”

“Nope! Well, Masonhadto pack up all their shit before he would leave, so that took a while. But we got home before the storm got too bad. They’re bringing in some of their stuff now. Hopefully, they bring in their bedding because I don’t have any extra room, so they’ll be sleeping on the floor, taking turns sleeping on the couch.”

“They better. I don’t care where they sleep as long as it’s not with you.” He laughs when he says it, but he laughs all the time no matter what he’s talking about, so I’m not sure how serious he is about that.

“Don’t worry. My bed’s not big enough for four. Itisbig enough for two though… Maybe theywilltake turns sleeping with me,” I tease him.

“Very funny, Mia. Justtrynot to fuck around with any of them, please? They’re my best friends. I don’t want shit to be weird when you break their hearts.”

“Why’s it gotta be me breaking their hearts? Who’s to say they wouldn’t breakmine?”

“Oh, I don’t know. Because you’ve only been in one serious relationship in your life? And we both know how that turned out,” he says.

“That’s not fair. What happened with Mike was different. He broke my heart. Not the other way around.”

“I know, Mia. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean it like that.”
