“Oh, sweet girl. No. That’s not it at all. I didn’t want to overwhelm you. I thought it would be easier for you to see me like this. Hiding any part of me from you is the last thing I want to do,” Zo insists, slowly letting her demon form take over.

I watch Maddy as her jaw drops and she stares at her in awe, taking in the long, twisty horns that sit atop Zo’s head and the large, bat-like wings that flutter behind her. Her tail flicks and Maddy crawls to the foot of the bed to get closer to her.

“You’re so beautiful,” she whispers.

“Thank you, Daughter. I’m glad you approve. I thought I might scare you off…” She ducks her head to hide her embarrassment, but I saw the blush creep across her cheeks. So much like Maddy.

“Why would that scare me off? I know you’re a demon. Besides, the first time I met Belz, he was in full demon form. If I was going to be scared of demons, it would have been then.” She shakes her head with a smile. My mate is definitely one of a kind. “Wait… you have horns…bighorns, wings, and a tail. What did you do toearnall of those?” she asks innocently, not knowing the full extent of how demons earn such things.

“That’s a tale for another day, my dear. Get some rest. Jarnanith will be by shortly with some food for you. I’ll check on you later. I need to let Father know you’re awake and okay,” she tells Maddy, brushing a hand down her cheek with a sad smile before disappearing in a cloud of smoke.

Ilookatmymates with new eyes. Knowing more about demons and how Hell works is nice. I hate not knowing things. Being the only one in a group left out on some big secret. Knowing demons have to do something specific to earn horns, wings, and tails makes me even more curious about my mates. What exactly does one have to do to earn those things? Belz has all three. Is that good? Or bad? What did he do toearnthem? Do I evenwantto know?

“How does your head feel,Amica Mea?” Belz asks softly, pulling me from my thoughts.

My knee-jerk response is to say it hurts. Because itdidand itshould. But I take a second to just feel and I actually don’t feel any pain. Which is good, don’t get me wrong. Oh my God, the pain wasexcruciating. Wait… “Why am I not in pain? There’s not even an echo of the agony I was in.”

“Luc took your pain away. It’s one of his many powers. He can give pain and he can take it away. Though, he doesn’t usually take it… surprised he knew how,” Zeph explains with a bit of a ramble.

“Don’t let him hear you say that. You’ll be feeling the not-so-fun part of that power,” Belz snickers.

“Will you tell me more about that? About the different demon powers? What can you do?” I ask with just a hint of the excitement I’m really feeling… Well, IhopeI don’t look like a crazed lunatic asking about that, at least. Butugh,I’ve always been obsessed with magic and everything paranormal. All the books I read and the movies I watch center on the supernatural. I’ve always wished the creatures from my books really existed. That there was realmagicin the world. To find out they do… Thereis. It’s beyond exciting and I just want to knoweverything.

“We’ll tell you anything you wanna know, Angel. You know that,” Zeph tells me with his stupidly sexy smirk.

“Do angels exist? Should you be calling me that? Will Luc like…smiteyou or something if he catches you?”

Belz and Zeph both laugh, and I glare at them before rolling my eyes. “Yes, angels really exist. I don’t see why not, and doubtful… but I may keep that name to myself,” Zeph responds with a wink.

“Right. Of course, they exist. So all that bible shit… That’sreal? Demons are bad, angels are good? Yadda yadda?”

“To an extent.” I glare at Belz because that’s not really an answer, but he just chuckles and keeps going. “The bible has some accuracies in it. But it’s a book of man, so take everything with a large grain of salt. There is good and bad everywhere. Whether human, angels, or demons. Our species doesn’t determine our morality.”

“Really?” I ask, completely confused.

“Of course. Let’s use your books as an example. In one book you may have a dragon shifter that kidnaps women and razes villages. But then there can be another dragon shifter fighting that one and protecting his village. Same species, but one’s good and one’s evil. Just because dragons may be known for stealing virgins and burning anyone in their way doesn’t mean all dragons are bad. Angels are known as the good guys in your books…the bible…” He does air quotes when he says the bible. “Because a few people caught an angel doing something good. Likewise, a few demons got caught being dicks, so we got labeled as evil. That book is based on a handful of people’s experiences with one or two angels and demons. It’s not even the majority of either species. We’re literally being stereotyped based on a handful of human experiences,” he explains, getting more and more agitated. It really bothers him that his species has been labeled the bad guys.

“I’m sorry. I didn’t know…” I trail off, not knowing what to say.

“It’s not your fault, love. How would you know? Besides, you never believed any of it, anyway.” He smirks at me.

“Shut up.” I laugh as I smack him in his too-firm chest, making me think of other things we could be doing in bed together, besides talking about the portrayal of demons in human society, and I feel my cheeks heat.

“What’s that beautiful blush for?” Zeph asks, licking his lips as he leans closer to me.

“Nothing!” I squeak. “I mean… What blush?”

My demons chuckle darkly and share a look before advancing on me from both sides. “The blush that goes hand in hand with the lust coming off of you that’s so strong I could drown in it,” Zephyr groans as he slides his hand up my left thigh.

“I… Oh God. I don’t know what you’re talking about,” I moan as Belz glides his hand up my stomach. It’s so hard to think with both of them touching me.

Belz cups my breast in his huge hand at the same time Zeph brushes his thumb over my pussy with just enough pressure to tease me and have me arching into them.

“Don’t tease me,” I whine, desperate to have their hands on my skin.
