I start grinding the herbs and add them to the cauldron one at a time. When I finish the last herb, I search the cabinets for vinegar. I normally use water for the base of my potions, but vinegar is best for change and transformation. And that’s exactly what I’m aiming for with this potion. For Mateo totransforminto a human.

I place the cauldron over the fire and stir, chantingUndo this curse, over and over as I do. After ten minutes, a puff of smoke covers the brew, rising up the cauldron and drifting over the edges. I grab a bottle off the shelf and carefully fill it with the potion as the smoke dissipates.

When I get back to my room, Jett’s still there, sitting on the bed beside Mateo. I slowly walk to the bed, stopping in front of Mateo. I hold up the and explain what he has to do.

“Drink this and your curse will be broken.” He makes happy chittering noises and scoots his face closer to the vial in my hand. Chuckling, I pop the top. “Ready?” He nods his furry head and I press the top of the vial to his open mouth and tip it back. Once he swallows the last drop I step back and watch my magic go to work.

The inky blackness that surrounds him slowly disappears until finally there’s no trace of the curse. I smile to myself, proud of another curse broken. They both look at me like I’m crazy and I realize they don’t know the curse is broken.

Pressing my lips together to stop from laughing, I explain, “The curse was just preventing you from shifting out of this form. With the curse broken, you should be able to shift back now,” I encourage him with a smile.

I watch patiently as he remembers how to shift. Since he doesn’t shift immediately, I can only assume it’s been a long time for him.How long has he been stuck like this?

Finally, where there was once an adorable fluffy chinchilla, there’s now a gorgeous naked man lying face down on my bed. He has the kind of tan a Floridian like me would kill for but it’s all natural. He lifts his head and gazes up at me with complete adoration. I get lost in his chocolate brown eyes, mesmerized by my fourth and final mate in his human form. I loved the cuddly chinchilla, but I would definitely choose this…body.God what a body.

“Okay! Enough of that,” Jett gripes, covering Mateo’s bare ass with a pillow.

Damn, I was so distracted by his face I didn’t even look at his ass.

“Right. Sorry,” I mutter before looking around my room for something a little bigger to cover his private region. He can’t be comfortable laying on the bed that way. Finding a throw blanket in my chair, I grab it and toss it to him.

Unfortunately, he’s not too fast with the reflexes, so he doesn’t exactlycatchit.

Jett bursts out laughing as my microfleece pink and red blanket hangs from Mateo’s head, covering his face.

“Oops! Sorry,” I grimace as I rush back over to him and pull the blanket off of him. “Guess you forgot how to move in your human body. My bad.”

Jett laughs even louder and I glare at him. He raises both hands in surrender as his laughter dies down to a chuckle. Rolling my eyes at him, I turn my attention back to Mateo as he shifts around, holding the blanket as he sits up.

Mateo

I gingerly sit up, my human body slow to remember how to move. I've been in my chinchilla form so long I'm not sure I remember how to be human. I manage to keep the blanket mostly covering my dick, but there’s still plenty of exposed skin for my mate to admire.

I still can’t believe it and I stare at her in awe, fully expecting her to fade away and for this all to be a dream. She’s stunning. Absolutely perfect. “How do you feel?” she asks before chewing on her bottom lip and fidgeting with her hands.

“A little stiff, and hungry,” I chuckle. “But otherwise…good.”

“You remember how to talk but not move?” Jett snarks.

“Be nice!” Lila scolds him. Turning back to me, she smiles. “I’m glad.”

We sit there in awkward silence for a minute before she suddenly asks me, “Why did you jump on me at the aquarium? You scared me half to death.”

I can’t hide the smile as she chastizes me. She’s sexy when she’s worked up. Though, I’d prefer to get her worked up in a different way.

“I hope you’re not expecting an apology,mi reina. I didn’t know what drew me to the aquarium today, but when I saw you, I knew. You were my mate. I couldn’t exactly walk up to you and ask you out, so I did the only thing I could think of.” I shrug.

“You just jumped on her? You’re lucky she didn’t fling you off and hurt you,” Jett shakes his head.
