“How the fuck did this situation end up in our fucking backyard?” Fox growled.

Deviant looked hesitant, his eyes darting to me before going back to our prez.

My eyes narrowed. “What?”

“There’s some evidence that they set up shop near here shortly after Tamara started working for them.”

“Are you saying she’s involved?” My tone was low and dangerous, a warning that he’d better consider his next words very carefully.

“Of course not.” Deviant growled, then sighed. “Or not directly anyway.”

I waited for an explanation.

“Dug a little deeper into the building they’re using. The previous owner was Mike Hurst.”

My brow shot up. “Tamara’s dad?”

“I’m thinking they found out about the properties he was selling when they did the background check before hiring her.”

Silence descended, thick and heavy.

Then Deviant broke the quiet. “There’s more.”

Maverick expelled a harsh breath. “Movement?”

“All damn day,” Deviant grunted. “People goin’ in but only employees coming back out. No doubt they’re moving in a group of new test subjects.”

“Same company?” Maverick asked.

Deviant pressed his lips together, clearly reluctant to go on. “Same shell funding it, same routing numbers, same lead tech. But the listed owner…it’s Tamara.”

“What the fuck?” I shouted.

Before I could seriously lose my shit, Deviant plowed on. “They copied her signature for the sale straight from heremployment application. She never noticed the identity theft because it was paid for with cash. Looks like they were setting her up to take the fall for them if necessary. Probably why things got weird the second she looked a little deeper.”

I was reeling from all this information and how the hell to process it.

“Also, there’s another mobile clinic on the edge of town. This one is a smaller operation, out of a large van.”

“Bastards are spreading like a fucking virus,” Fox snarled. “This shit has gone far enough. We take it down tonight.” Then his gaze locked with mine. “And when the last body clears that building…”

He didn’t finish the sentence. He didn’t have to.

I nodded once.

Finally.

I was gonna get to light a fucking match and watch their world go up in flames.

They moved to handle the rest of the planning, but my mind was already back on Tamara.

“Savage.”

I glanced up to see Stone had joined us. “Make sure the destruction looks like it was done deliberately. Deviant and I will take care of the legal documents to ensure Tamara isn’t connected, then I’ll file an insurance claim for them. Being investigated for insurance fraud will be a great addition to the other charges they’ll face.”

“Fine,” I agreed, glancing in the direction of the lounge.

Maverick clapped a hand on my shoulder and shoved. “Go. Only thing that’s gonna keep you tame is your girl.”
