Her eyes widened. “What?”

“Yeah. Think about it.” His voice changed from determined to excited. “Carter’s going to be with his girlfriend all break. They’re going to see her parents for a few days before going to Portland for her to meet his mom. My apartment’s bigger than yours, and I have a TV, so we can watch movies on a bigger screen. It’ll be fun.”

She drew in a breath, taking in his hopeful expression, and the way his hand reached across the table, linking his fingers with hers.

His eyes grew darker. “C’mon, Layla. Say yes. I want you all to myself for a week. In my bed, on my couch, in my shower. No one else but you and me, and we only have to leave if we want to go out. You know I’ll be trying to get you to come over every day anyway. It’ll be easier if you plan for it.”

Layla kept her eyes on their joined hands, his seductive voice doing a good job of convincing her that he had a really good point. Didn’t he, though? If they were both in town with no obligations, he would be at her apartment every day unless she told him to stay away. And he wanted her in his bed and everywhere else? How could she say no to that?

With another deep breath she met his eyes. “Okay.”

His fingers squeezed hers. “Really?”

She chuckled. “Should I change my mind?”

“No! No. I didn’t expect you to give in that easily.”

She shrugged. “You’re very convincing when you want to be.”

His smirk said everything. “Good. Now I really can’t wait until Friday.”

Withdrawing her hand, she continued eating, shifting in her seat. If today was anything to judge by, she’d probably be sore by the end of next week. But she had a feeling it’d be worth it.
