“What?” I ask, momentarily confused. And then his lips are on mine, and I forget everything and anything else. When I open for him, he chases my tongue and I’m lost in a sea of feelings and emotions. He groans low in his throat and pulls me closer, running his hands down my back, my sides, my hair. Everywhere his hand touches leaves a feeling of fire behind. I’m consumed with him. He’s all around me in the very best way. My heart feels like it’s going to beat out of my chest. He starts a path down my neck, my jawline, my ear, my collarbone. This time, it’s me moaning loudly.

“Ah,” he kisses me again. “That sound. Baby, all those sounds are for me alone.” He kisses me again. My legs feel like jelly, buthe keeps me propped against the wall. My hands snake behind his neck and into his hair. I tug, and he groans low again. I love that I have that control over him. I pull on his shirt, trying to get him closer. He responds by putting a hand around my upper back and pulling me closer, keeping our lips locked together. He deepens the kiss at this new angle, and I’m about to come out of my skin. He finally slows the kiss. Eventually, he kisses me one more time and then pulls back. He rests his forehead against mine and tries to catch his breath; I’m doing the same thing in his arms. “I...you...”

I smile. “I...you too.”

He smirks. “Shut up.”

“You shut up.”

He kisses me again. “You are such a brat.”

I beam up at him. “Thank you.”

Chapter 35

Stephanie

“Will you go with me to talk to my dad?” I ask suddenly.

Sebastian blinks, like he’s coming out of a daze. “Woman, you can’t kiss me like that and then ask a serious question.” He groans and then sets me on my feet. “Let’s get some food and then we can talk.”

A few minutes later, we’re sitting at the table eating. “Oh my word; I am suddenly starving.” I look at the table and take in the bagels, muffins, sausage, bacon, yogurt and granola, omelets, breakfast potatoes, and fruit. “Do you think we have enough food?”

“I, uh, might have panicked and ordered everything I could think of,” he admits. “I just wanted you to be able to eat whatever sounded good.”

My heart softens. “Thanks, Sebastian. This looks amazing; I’m so hungry. I can’t believe you were able to get all this so fast.”

“Imighthave thrown my name around...just a little bit. I don’t normally do that,” he hurries to add.

“Riiight.” I take a little bit of almost everything. “Man, I don’t remember like anything of the past few days. Is that how it was for you?”

He scowls. “Yeah.”

“Why are you scowling?” I can’t help but ask.

“Because you shouldn’t be dealing with a concussion, not for a family fun game.”

I take in his words and remember something I heard Brielle say. “Was William the one that hit me?”

His face darkens. “Don’t say his name.”

“Oh. Got it. So, was it he who should not be named that hit me?”

He sits back in his chair and crosses his arms over his chest. “Yes. But don’t worry. The guys and I took care of him.”

I stop with my muffin halfway to my mouth. “What does that mean?”

“Nothing for you to worry about.”

“Sebastian, what did you do to him?”

“Do you really want to know?”

That gives me pause. “Maybe not. I don’t want to be culpable and get sent to jail for accessory.”

He grins. “Yeah, it would make it pretty hard to date you if you were in jail. You’d make a really cute jailbird though.”

I raise an eyebrow and shake my head. I finish my muffin and wipe my hands on my napkin. “I’m going to see my dad today. I’m going to tell him that he was way out of line. I’ve already made my decision; he needs to stay out of it.” I stand up to take my plate to the sink, but a hand around my wrist stops.
