Even my wolf was panting with need for the man in front of us. He wanted him just as much as I did.

“Is that so?’

I nodded at the question, pressing myself closer to him. We were far too clothed for my liking. I wanted him naked and knotted inside me now.

Patience be damned.

“Alpha,”I purred as I ran a hand up his impressive chest. “I would like to finish our bond. Is there someone who could take care of the store for you?”

He shook his head, then growled. The sound made the hand I had on his chest vibrate. It was unexpectedly salacious.

“Fuck that. I’m not waiting for someone to come.” He reached up to take my hand, then he proceeded to drag me around the store while he shut things down.

It was still early in the day. I figured he would have several more hours to go before he could close up, hence why I asked if he had backup to help.

As I watched him take care of everything and hastily write a note claiming to be closed temporarily, I felt an overwhelming sense of peace. The heartache I’d been experiencing withered away at the connection I was sure had to be growing between us.

Simply touching him set me on fire. What would fucking him and biting him be like?

I might explode.

“Mate,” his words were more animalistic than before. His Alpha had to be riding him hard.

“Yes?”

He grinned as he pulled me through the door. “I was asking if you drove. We can come back for your car later. I don’t think I can let you go right now.”

I smiled big at his words. “You don’t have to let me go, Alpha. I’m all yours. Don’t worry about my car. I’ll text Kris to come get it with Judy later.”

“Excellent idea. And maybe tell them you won’t be back for a few days to get your stuff.”

Oh, yeah. That was something they needed to know.

He rushed us over to his car, which was in the parking area across the street from the shop. It was a lot meant to give people a place to leave their cars while they explored the shops. I’d never been more thankful for a spot being so close.

My cock was hard and aching. Too much walking would only make it worse.

Hell, I could wind up coming before he even touched me with the way things were going so far. His presence alone sent me close to the edge.

Not to mention his hand holding mine so firmly, like he was afraid I’d disappear.

In the car, he made sure I was buckled in before pulling away. I tugged my phone out with my free hand and dialed Kris. He answered on the second ring.

“What’s up? Everything ok?”

“Hey, Kris. Sorry to interrupt your morning. I just wanted to let you know I won’t be back to the house for a couple of days. Can you come down to the bookshop to grab my car?”

Kris chuckled. “Well, crap. What happened? Is it a flat? I can definitely change it for you. Anything more and I’ll need to call a mechanic.”

“It’s nothing like that. I’m leaving it there while Maklihn drives us to his place. Leaving it for a bit is fine, but days might not be.”

“Days?”

“Yeah,” I said carefully. Kris and Judy were fated, which meant he had some idea of what I was going through. If nothing else, I trusted my cousin would keep him in line if he tried to give me shit.

“Wait, Maklihn? Why are you with him?”

The man he mentioned reached over and snagged the phone from my grip. I whined loudly since the move came at the expense of him dropping my hand.
