Page 14 of Alpha's Two Omegas

The cute omega behind the bar flashed me a wink that made me blush. “You sure can, sweetness.”

He pulled my pint expertly and even managed to flirt with an alpha woman who was standing by the pumps as he did it. He reminded me a little of Alder, except Alder didn’t smile as much as this omega did. The bar-tender flashed his smile around, whereas Alder was much more serious. Focused.

Someone elbowed me in the side and I jumped.

“You going to stand there all day?”

“N-no, sorry.”

I hurriedly got out my money and was too embarrassed to count the coins out, so I dumped them into the bar-tender’s hand and scurried away.

In the crush of people, I’d lost my friends and I had to squeeze through the throng, searching for them. Half of my beer ended up on the floor but I managed to drink some of it.

We talked for a while – ok, they did the talking because every time I said something, they just shouted, “What?” and I mentally kicked myself for not having a louder voice. After about half an hour, I slipped away, deciding I’d go home. After all, at home, I had Alder and Ty and I’d be able to talk to them and they’d be able to hear me.

I felt myself flush a bit at the thought of spending the evening with them. When Alder talked to me, he fixed me with this intense stare and asked me questions like he wanted to stick a straw into my brain and suck out all the useful information. I could already tell that Alder was addicted to learning things.

I sent a quick message to my friends, telling them I’d gone so they wouldn’t start looking for me, and noticed that I had a message from Ty.

TY: Text me when you’re ready to come home and I’ll come and collect you. Don’t worry about what time it is, I don’t have to be up in the morning.

I also had a message from Alder.

ALDER: Ty says you’re out tonight. Have fun and stay safe. Remember you’re not to get the bus back alone. You can ring Ty to collect you.

ALDER: I just realised I made that sound optional, and it’s not. You WILL ring Ty to collect you. He won’t mind. He drives me around all the time.

I smiled a little. Of course Ty chauffeured Alder around whenever he wanted, as though he were a prince or something, because Ty was absolutely besotted and wanted to do anything for him.

I kind of got where Ty was coming from, actually. Alder just made me want to do things for him because hedeservednice things.

I messaged him back.

ME: I’m leaving now so I can get the bus.

ALDER: I told you you’re not getting the bus alone after dark.

ME: It’s not that late.

I nearly jumped out of my skin when my phone rang with Alder’s ringtone. Yes, I had already given Ty and Alder their own ringtones and there was nothing unusual about that at all.

I answered it. “Hello?”

“Where are you?”

“Um, just outside the Union. I’m—”

“Go back inside right now.”

“Uh, excuse me?”

“You’re standing in the dark, aren’t you?”

“Well…” I looked around. It was dark, but there were streetlights around. It wasn’t as though it was a creepy alleyway or anything.

“You’re going back inside and I’m coming to get you.”

“Oh.”
