He didn’t sound convinced.

“I didn’t realise the shop was struggling that much.”

“Yes, well, that’s my fault. I just assumed that, you know, other people loved my stuff as much as I did.”

I wasn’t sure about that. Wilfred made quality gifts and he could sell them at a decent profit, too.

“Is there anything else?”

He waved a hand airily. “Nothing for anyone else to worry about.”

I didn’t like that. It sounded as though he had something to worry about but didn’t want to burden anyone else with it. I had only known Wilfred for a couple of months but I already liked him. He was a friend.

“Look, Wilfred, I can waive my fee if—”

“No, no, I couldn’t ask you to do that. It’s nothing, honestly. We’ll pull through. This new website will be just the thing.”

I reluctantly let it go but I made a mental note to come and check on Wilfred next week and see if I could get him to open up a bit more about what was worrying him. If that didn’t work, I could always set Alder on him.

When Ronnie was ready, I carried the equipment out to the car and Ronnie trailed behind me. He asked, “Do you think Alder will like the photos I took today?”

“Yes, I do.”

He nodded and the smile he gave was a little turn at the corner of his mouth, nothing more. I knew what had caused it, though. Alder. Ronnie had fallen for Alder exactly the way I had – the way that made me just desperate to get his attention because having Alder’s focus on me was a rush.

“We’ll show him when he gets home,” I promised.

Chapter 16: Alder

Ibounded into the kitchen, so excited to see my men. They were working up at the table, each on his laptop, and I stopped in the doorway to admire the sight.

They both looked up at me and the smiles they gave me made my heart flip.

“Hey Alder, did you have a good day?” asked Ty.

I walked over to the table and did what I’d always imagined doing. What I’d always wanted to do. I leaned down and kissed Ty.

It got dirty fast and Ty grabbed at my body, trying to tug me down onto his lap but the table was in the way.

I pulled away from him and looked into his eyes. “Love you. I’m so glad to be home.”

“I love you too, Alder.”

My whole body lit up with pleasure at those words. I’d waited my entire life to hear them and it was even better than I’d imagined.

I hadn’t finished yet, though. I hurried round the table to Ronnie and leaned down to kiss him, too. He practically fell into me and let out those needy little whimpers of his as I owned his mouth. Damn, I couldn’t take much more of this. My two men were something else.

When I pulled back, Ronnie tried to follow me but I put my hand on his shoulder to keep him in place.

“First things first: how long have you been working here?”

Ronnie crinkled his brow as though he couldn’t understand the question. He got so distracted when he was turned on, and it was adorable.

That meant it was Ty who had to answer.

“A few hours.”

I looked over at him, making sure I looked stern. “When did you last move?”
