“You’ve got to stop the guilt.”He slammed his lips down on hers cutting off any kind ofprotest.Histongue glided over her lips, sucking her bottom lip into his mouth. She moaned at the contact of his lips, opening her mouth for hisinvading tongue.

She met him halfway, sliding hertongue over his.

He sank his fingers into her hair, tuggingon the length.

Within seconds Whizz pulled away, openedthe door and closed it, leaving her alone and confused. She didn’tknow what had just happened. Her lips were swollen, and she wasturned on.If Whizz intended to torture her, he was going the rightway about it.Sitting down on his bed, she rested her head in herhands.

She was losing her mind.On theone hand there was the guilt of causing Dalton’s death. She didn’tfeel she had the right to be happy. On the other hand, she wantedto be with Whizz. From the moment they first met at the coffee shopshe’d felt a connection to him.Lacey didn’t want to losethat. He wasthe first and only man she’d ever felt such a strong connection to.It went far beyond the damage and pain they’d bothsuffered.

Dalton’s face flashed through hermind. She was never going to get away from him.

“I’m sorry,” shesaid.

Chapter Three

Whizz rested his head againstthe door.He didn’tknow why he kissed her or why he walked away from her.Herlips were too fucking tempting to ignore. She was driving himinsane, and they barely knew each other.Everything they knew abouteach other was stuff they’d discovered through searching files.Whizz doubted she knew anything about him that would surprisehim.

“What are you doing?”Killer asked.

Turning around, he saw his friend standingwith his son on his hip.Killer held a baby bottle in his hand.Thesight of Killer holding a baby was strange to Whizz. He’d watchedhim kill other men with his bare hands. The way Killer held his sonshowed the love and care he took.

“Nothing.”Whizz stepped away from thedoor.“Where’s Kelsey?”

“She’s not feeling well. From the smell, she’s got some kind of bug.I’m taking Markus forthe night, letting her rest. She’s back in the room.”Killerstarted walking.Markus fisted his hands and started flailing them, making gurgling sounds.Whizz couldn’t help but smile. The littleguy was so charming and full of beans.

“Can I holdhim?”

“Sure.”Killer handedMarkus over.

Together they walked downstairstoward the main clubhouse.A couple of the sweet-butts were on thetable, dancing for the men.He wasn’t interested in the women andheaded toward the pool room.Hardy wassitting in the corner drinking abeer.Lash and Nash were playing pool while Steven stared at thegame on television.

“Thank you for comingforward for Lacey,” Whizz said, taking a seat.

“Hey, no babies allowed,”Steven said.

In response Markus just gurgled somemore, looking totally adorable.

“Whatever.”

“Kids have got us wrappedaround their little fingers,” Lash said, sipping hisbeer.

“Stop all the talk offucking kids.”Hardy stood, looking angry.

“Still no sign of the icebreaking from Rose?”Steven asked.

“Do you all know mybusiness?”

During the Gonzalez problem, the news ofHardy’s past affair had come to light when Rose refused to keep itquiet. The couple was holding on by a thread, but the cracks in thecouple’s relationship were blatantly on show.Rose wouldn’t backdown any longer.

“The whole club knows whathappened, Hardy. We all know what happened,” Lash said, pointing atall of them.“So do the women.”

Hardy ran fingers through his thickhair. He no longer looked like the confident man that Whizzrecalled. This man looked like he was about to lose everything. He’d put all of his chips on the one number, only the ball hadpassed that number one too many times to come backaround.

“I’m trying.I’m always fuckingtrying to help her, but I can’t make her forgive me.”

“Why fuck another woman?”Whizzasked, looking from Markus up to Hardy. When he’d heard the news of whathappened over ten years ago, he’d been shocked.Rose was a beauty, and any man would be crazy to cheat on her ass.

“I was young.I don’t know.Shitwas different back then.”
