“I think they got your impression very clearly.” I still remembered the sergeant’s face when Reaper got hold of him on the phone. “I don’t know what you said, but you left him in a foul mood.”

“He didn’t say any more crap to you, did he?” I could hear the Reaper itching at the seams, ready to attack.

“Just empty threats. When will you be in Kelly?” I blew on my coffee while changing the subject.

“This afternoon.”

“Good. The sooner you rest up, the sooner you’re on the road back to me.”

“Yeah, and I’ve got to deal with the police when I get back.” He said it in a way that he wasn’t going to be doing them any favors.

“Kade, we don’t need them on our back,” I warned.

“I know,” he sighed. “Look, I’ve got to go. Bike’s full and I’ve got to pay and get the boys back on the road.”

“Ok, love you.”

“Yeah you too.”

I pulled the phone from my ear and hung up. Damn, I forgot to ask him about Dad’s thing. I guess he will call tonight and I’ll ask then.

I had a cigarette in one hand and the pregnancy test in the other. Two lines. I sighed and sat it down next to the other four. I guess I had to face it. I was pregnant again. So soon after Matthew. What was I to do? Reaper was coming back today, and I can’t even imagine what he will think. I picked up the tests and threw them in the bathroom bin.

It didn’t matter what he thought. I wasn’t ready to face it. I couldn’t face going through it again. The only solution was to get it taken care of. As soon as I could, I’ll book an appointment.

I wasn’t having this baby, and I wasn’t going to tell Reaper about it. It was a problem, and now I solved it.

I leaned against my car, watching the bikes pull in. My eyes were on Reaper as he led the pack in. The lot was packed with family friends, everyone just happy to see their men back.

I waited till Reaper was parked and off his bike before I walked across to him.

“Thought you weren’t going to come for a minute.” He smirked at me while taking his helmet off.

“Just taking my time.” I took the hand he extended to me, and I was quickly pulled into a tight hug. He kissed the top of my head, and I pulled away slightly to look up at him.

“I missed you, Kade.”

He ran this knuckles down my cheek softly. “I missed you too.”

Reaper was stiff, and I knew that could be down to the long ride. But there was something. Something on his face that told me something was off. Maybe something happened in Kelly he hadn’t mentioned to me. I glanced over at Brad and noticed he was staring directly on Kade. Yep, I was right, something had happened.

Brad

It was full. The clubhouse was overflowing with family, members, strangers, and the odd supporter. While most of the boys were focused on getting drunk and scoring I was busy watching our Prez to see if he’ll crack.

Abby was sitting on his lap with a smoke in hand that they were sharing. Reaper had a drink in hand and the other on Abby’s waist. Power just oozed from them. You could tell by one look around the place, and you would know they were in charge. It wasn’t just Reaper; it was Abby on his lap. The most beautiful woman in the clubhouse, and boy did she have an attitude on her.

Clearly they were a perfect match for each other. The only problem I had with it was Reaper wasn’t being Reaper.

I knew as soon as that guy pulled his gun on him that Reaper would be the one finishing it, and he did. And from that night, he hasn’t been the same. I’ve been waiting for him to crack. Instead, he was withdrawing. Ever since Matthew, he hasn’t been the same.

Losing his son had changed him, and so it should. But I think it was Abby who really was making him change.

Cameron was talking to me about fuck knows what and my eyes were on the powerful two. Reaper wasn’t laughing, in fact, I think he was barely listening, and I could tell from here. Abby was the one keeping the conversation flowing between the members and them.
