Page 140 of Reaper's Rival

A couple of days passed. Reaper was busy with the club and was leaving before I woke and back when I was asleep. I didn’t call him or text because if he really wanted to see me, he could just stay home in the morning or come home at night when I was awake.

I didn’t know if he was doing this on purpose because he was mad at me about the baby. Now that I had time to think about it, I wasn’t too sure about my decision and if I was in doubt now, I didn’t know what I would be like once I decide to do something.

I was walking down the street, in my own little world, when I passed a laughing pregnant woman and her friend. I couldn’t help but stare. I touched my stomach; that is what I could be like. She looked so happy and ready to be a parent. Was I ready for that? What kind of parents would Reaper and I be?

My phone buzzed in my pocket, and aimlessly, I pulled it out and answered.

“Hello?”

“Abby, where are you?”

Reaper.

“Um, I’m down the street, how come?” I stopped staring and started walking again.

“Can you come to the clubhouse?”

“Yeah, sure, is something wrong?”

“I have to go, so are you coming or not?”

“Yes, I’ll be there soon.”

He hung up.

That was rude. I put my phone back in my pocket. Wonder why he wanted to see me? Seeing as that was the first time we had talked in days, he could have been nicer.

Reaper was at the bar talking to people I had never seen before, and I was patiently waiting for him to hurry up. That was when Brad appeared at my side.

“Someone looks tense.” Brad frowned at me. “You alright?”

“Yeah, I’m fine. Who is Reaper talking to?” I lied almost perfectly, but Brad didn’t buy it; I could tell. I just hoped he didn’t pressure me about it.

“No one. Look, he told me if you showed up to wait in his office.” He gave me a pat and a nudge on the back. “Go on; I don’t think he will be much longer.”

I sighed and nodded my head. “Thanks, Brad.”

I walked to Reaper’s office and opened the door. The desk was covered in glasses and paper. Looks like he had been spending some time here.

I was standing over it when the door flung open.

“Tell him I’ll be ten,” Reaper shouted over his back and shut the door behind him.

My throat dried up just looking at him. He was wearing a tight singlet with his vest over top and his arm tattoos on display. The Abby tattooed on his neck sunk my heart. Was it possible that in a mere couple of days, I had forgotten what this man meant to me? Sure, I went through weeks not seeing him while he was in Kelly and then add on this break we had, it just felt like forever since I had seen him.

“Abby.”

“Reaper.”

“I have something for you.”

I arched my eyebrow. “What?”

He walked around his desk and pulled open a drawer. He lit up a cigarette before throwing something at me. I caught the wrapped packet with one hand.

“What’s this?” I asked.
