Abby walked out of the lounge room and stood in the door frame. “You’re home?”

“Yeah.”

She looked me up and down and frowned. “You’re drunk.”

“Something like that.”

“Right.” She crossed her arms and shook her head at me. “Surprised you even made it here.”

“I’m here, aren’t I?”

A smile spread across her face. “Yeah, you are.” She walked across to me till she was standing in front of me and with one movement, she wrapped her arms around my neck and brought her face up to mine. “I’m sorry for acting like a teenager.”

I would admit it, one touch from her and I couldn’t be mad at her. “It’s alright; you were just acting on your feelings. I’m here for you Abby, whatever you decide.”

“I love you, Kade.” And then her lips landed on mine, and suddenly the cares of the day disappeared and all I cared about was her.

I picked her up, throwing her legs around my waist, and carried her upstairs.

Chapter 39

Abby

I hadn’t made this decision lightly, and I knew going into it that this was going to be hard. I took a deep breath and shut my eyes. I was making the right decision.

“Reaper?”

I heard him upstairs.

“Yeah, darlin?” He ran down the stairs. I was in the lounge with a cup of tea. “You ok?”

“Yeah, I just wanted to know if you wanted to come to my ultrasound?”

His mouth slowly opened, and if I didn’t know better, I would say Reaper was in shock.

“So this means that you… um…” he stuttered.

“I’m keeping the baby, Kade.”

In one movement, he was across the room and had me in the air. I had just enough time to put my tea down. He hugged me tightly. “Shit, Abby, this just fuck, it's just fucking perfect.”

I laughed. “So you don’t mind being a dad?”

My legs wrapped around his waist.

“Abby, I want this.” He kissed my forehead.

“Well, I guess you will have the pleasure of telling my dad you knocked me up again.”

“Your dad? When is he coming into town?”

I cracked a smirk. “We are going to him. The charter is throwing a huge party for his birthday, and I already said we would be there.”

He rolled his eyes. “Of course you did.”

“So you better have no plans this weekend.”

“And too bad if I did.” He smirked at me. “Nah babe, nothing could ruin today, even seeing your dad doesn’t put me in a bad mood.”
