“You can be a cold-hearted bitch can’t you.” Cage spoke to my back.“You said she will never be president wife material...” His words lingered. “Hate to break it to you Autumn but all you are is a spoiled president’s daughter. You’ll never be president wife material either.”
I heard the kitchen door close shortly after that. And so I was left standing here, well leaning against the kitchen island, thinking, he was right. I would never be a president's old lady.
But Holly needed a rude awakening. If she thought I was competition, wait till she meets the real competition.

I was dressing the burn on my leg in my bedroom when Aaron walked in. I gave him a look before he closed the door.
“Autumn.”
“Aaron.” I said coldly.
“I can’t do this.”
I frowned. “Do what?”
“Let Cage think we are together.” He looked down at the ground before looking back at me.
“I can’t lose her. She means too much to me.”
“For the record I never asked you to pretend to be with me. You did that all on your own.” I stood up. “As for Holly, how much damage did I do?”
“A lot. Got her staying at a motel. But shit isn’t easy with her. She’s got her own issues and she was holding back because of me. Doesn’t see the point of holding back now.”
I shook my head not keeping up. “What motel?”
“She’s downstairs I’m about to drive her there.”
“How about you give me five minutes with her?”
“Like fuck!”
“Aaron.” I put my hands on his shoulders. “Just trust me.” And he was going to have to. Because I was going to have a conversation with Holy Holly who had stolen his heart.

Holly was waiting at the bar for Aaron I was assuming. I walked to her side, seeing her hand on her head.
“My father always said I had a hard head.”
She turned, shot me a glare then went back to staring at her drink.
I pulled a stool out next to her, and she looked at me like I was crazy. Slightly moving away from me.
“I’m not in the mood for round two,” she said dryly, sounding as depressed as I was.
I put my hand up for the prospect getting him to pour me a drink.
I doubted Holly wanted to know it. But she was about to learn how Aaron Crow and I met, and why we are so loyal to each other, and it had nothing to do with attraction but it had to do with love. But I wasn’t in love with him nor was he with me. We just had a strong connection.
And I was about to let Holly in on why and I hoped that it fixed some of the damage I had done.
CAGE
What the fuck? I couldn’t help but think. As I stared at the two giggling,
I thought it again. What the actual fuck?
