My lips twitched up and then I couldn’t help but smile.

“It's the maid of honor. Not horror.”

“Oh. It’s horror.” She declared firmly and looked me up and down. “You know, for someone who wasn’t in the club life. You really suit us.”

I was thrown back by her comment.

“Is that a good thing or not…”

She grinned and shrugged.

“Take it how you want to take it. Now you ready to go?”

“Sure.”

It was after midday I could tell by the light. I also couldn’t stop feeling waves of nerves coming from Eve. As if she wanted to ask something of me but couldn’t do it.

I had a feeling during the car ride, she would ask something of me. Which clearly had her nervous.

I followed her and closed the door.

“Did you lock that? We all lock our doors around here.”

“No. So far there isn’t anyone I don’t trust.”

She gave me a wide-eyed look.

“Not even the crazy loon called Axe?”

“Viper’s best friend?” I asked her while walking down the passage.

“Um yeah. They basically are boyfriends. Always have each other's back. Honestly, dad can never get a clean or real answer with them two. Axe and my brother,” she linked her fingers together. “Are too close for their own good.”

I gave her a confused expression.

“Well, I didn’t get any bad vibes from him when I met him.”

She shook her head.

“You and that weird inside thing is creepy. It is as if you are a witch or something.”

I giggled just as I walked down the stairs and saw the bar filled with bikers. Seemed it was lunchtime, and the cavemen were ready to eat.

I could feel his eyes on me before I spotted him. Then I looked in his direction. He turned his head to the woman on his lap.

Eve’s expression darkened.

“I’ll have a word with the club girls tonight that my brother is off-limits.”

I grabbed Eve’s wrist, pulling her to the side before we walked into the crowd.

“Eve. Viper can do what he wants. He isn’t mine and that,” I gestured my head over my shoulder. “Doesn’t hurt me. So leave it, please?”

She pouted.

“I swear if he knocks one of them up. I’ll kill him. I’ve got my hopes set on you as a sister-in-law.”

“That’s sweet, but how about we just go for friends?” I nudged her. “Best friends, if you’ll have me.
