“Bye Axe,” Aurora said and then looked at me. Giving me the smallest smile. “Bye Viper. I hope you two have a good day.”
And then Eve pulled her out of the clubhouse. I watched the door swing for a few moments.
“Because I love you,” She looked over her shoulder at me. “Even if you can’t love me right now. I’ll keep believing in you, Tyson. Because I know how you feel. Viper is just your shield. But you’ll let me in. When you are ready.”
Aurora’s words went through my mind. And just for a second. My judgement dropped, and I wanted to storm out the clubhouse door, and demand for her not to leave with my sister.
But I stopped myself.
Because I know who I really am.
Venomous, and I wasn’t going to poison her.
Eve was tense. Anger coated her aura. She hadn’t said a word when we got in the car. She still hadn’t spoken a word to me.
Not even when we arrived at the empty night club and she spoke to the owners.
When we got back in the car.
She still kept her silence.
I waited for the right moment to speak to her. But it hadn’t come yet.
We pulled onto a suburban street. I loved the suburbs, they always reminded me of my dreams.
A family.
“Smell that?” I asked.
She glanced at me. As if stunned I still had a voice.
“The smell of fresh-cut summer grass. Nothing beats that.”
She didn’t reply but her shoulders relaxed. She slowed the car down and indicated into a large house. Pulling into the driveway.
I didn’t speak or ask where we were. I just got out of the car and followed her. She clearly knew whoever lived here well. Because she just opened the front door and walked in.
“Well if it isn’t my evil little cousin.”
Eve gave him a blank expression.
“East. I need to see Onyx. Where is she?”
He pointed up the stairs.
“Hungover in bed. Enjoy waking her up.”
Eve looked at me.
“I won’t be gone long.
I smiled at her and she went up the staircase. Shoving East on the way.
I smiled.
“Easton.” I greeted him.
“Hello, the little minx that has Demon’s heart.” He jumped down the last two stairs. “Wanna come with me to the garage?”
