Page 9 of Viper's Claim

Viper took a bite of his cheeseburger. Swallowed and looked the man in the eyes. “Apologise to her.”

The guy coughed out a laugh and then shook his head.

“Apologize. Or I’ll show you what happens when you touch my woman.” Viper’s threat wasn't empty.

Which is what really scared the shit out of me. My woman?

Viper wasn’t going to back down. But he casually waited, before turning fully to face the man. Before a fight could break out. I made a beeline for the exit. After breaking free of his grip. Opened the door and fast-walked from the scene.

Fuck. I clenched my eyes shut. I had really fucked up.

“Aurora.” Viper shouted at my back.

I could run. But he is the type of man that would chase me down.

I turned. His expression was tight and clearly pissed off.

“You’re meant to be out of town.” He pointed a finger at me before storming to me. “You got any idea woman how much shit has been in my head since you walked out? What have I been going through, to try to find you?” He scoffed, annoyed, with himself by the sound of it. “I didn’t realize you’d be at my local burger place. Then again, you aren’t even meant to be on this side of the state line.”

“I’ll do as I please.”

I swallowed sharply when he stepped towards me a deep warning smirk on his face.

“You really think that?”

Yes. No. Fuck. Yes! I am my own person.

“I can handle my stepbrothers. Now you better watch yourself, Viper, I might begin to think you have feelings for me.” I threw cold water on his smoldering rage at me.

“And what if I did?”

I was not expecting that answer. I think my blank expression told him that.

He chuckled, then let a long fuck as he ran his hand over his head. “Alright, back to the clubhouse.”

“I’m not a club problem.” I gritted out and slapped his hand from gripping my arm.

“Damn straight you aren’t.” he stood closer to me, towering over me. He tilts my head back to look up at him. “You’re my problem. Now walk that fine ass of yours to your car and head to the clubhouse.”

Can you hate someone yet feel lust for them at the same time? Fuck it. I know that answer. It is a yes. I hated Viper but a larger part of me was still hooked on Tyson who I had met that day. This man here was a full-on biker, but the man I had slept with wasn’t. Just like the same man I met at the lake—that was Tyson. This is Viper.

“Fine,” I replied. “But not because you told me.”

He laughed.

“So, are we going to pretend you were heading there after lunch, are we?”

I turned my back to him.

“Yep.”

That made him chuckle harder. “Whatever you say, baby.”

I clenched my fists at my side but didn’t have the guts to turn back around and look at him because of my flushed red cheeks.

I wasn’t born the daughter in the motorcycle club lifestyle. But that hadn’t meant, I didn’t have a tainted family past. This is exactly why I didn’t want to be at the Satan’s Sons clubhouse. As soon as I stepped foot in the clubhouse. I wanted to turn and run. I nearly had. Until I spotted Demon and Pixie arguing at the bar. Like me. They had been born into a tainted family.
