I caught Jax’s frown, and then his eyes widened. “Your shoulder.” His expression hardened. “Why the fuck didn’t you remind me you’ve hurt it? I made you keep your arms up!” He was immediately pissed off but not with me, with himself.

“How did you even know I had hurt it?” I sure as hell hadn’t told him. Had I? No, I don’t think I’ve told anyone.

He moved me off him, getting up.

“Jax, where are you going?” I asked, as he walked off.

“I should have fucking remembered.” He was speaking more to himself than to me. I watched him move around the kitchen island, heading for the cupboard above the oven. He pulled down my medication box.

“How did you know where that was?” I asked, sitting up fully now, watching him from the couch. I hadn’t shown him where I kept my medication.

“You should have fucking told me you were in pain.” He looked up from the box, pointing a finger at me. “Now, because of me, your shoulder is going to be flared up for days.” He looked down at the medication box, frustrated. “Why the hell don’t you have any painkillers?”

I smiled and went back to the couch. He wasn’t going to find one painkiller in that box. Unless you count Jack’s Tylenol. But he could search through all Will’s valium bottles. In the end, he wasn’t going to find anything.

I closed my eyes. I heard him stop rummaging. My stomach rumbled. God, where were the boys with food?

“Up.”

I opened my eyes, looking at Jax. I then spotted the deep heat in his hand. Looks like he hadn’t come up completely empty. I sighed and sat up.

“You don’t have to, you know. It isn’t you fault,” I grumbled and then he sat down and opened his legs for me to sit between on the ground in front of him.

“Top off.”

I smirked. “Is that your plan? Just trying to get me naked again?”

“Amber.” His voice was firm. When he said my name like that, it was a warning.

I sighed. God, he wasn’t even in the mood for a joke. I gripped the hem of the top and then as I was lifting it off, my shoulder pinched and a whimper escaped my lips.

He out a frustrated sigh. “I can’t believe you kept your arms up, when you knew you were injured.” He still wasn’t dropping the subject. “You should know fucking better.”

“Trust me, the pleasure is worth the pain.” The cream was cold when he applied it, causing me to shiver.

Then his hand started massaging the cream in. I didn’t want to whimper but I couldn’t stop myself, also causing my eyes to clench. It fucking hurt.

“Have you seen someone about the injury? You were supposed to see a physical therapist.”

My eyes opened. “How do you know that?” I went to turn to look at him but he pushed me back, to sitting straight in front of him. “Jax, how did you know that?”

“You’ve gotten into a habit of ignoring your health.” He sounded really pissed off and frustrated. “Dietitian, doctor, and now physical therapist. I’m going to make an appointment with each one come tomorrow.”

“I’m not seeing anyone.”

“You fucking will.”

“No, I won’t.”

“You will. Because I’m telling you to. And I’ll be dragging you there.” His voice was firm. He wasn’t threatening; he was serious.

I pouted. I knew there was no point arguing with him. He had made his mind up and when he got something in his head, he would make sure it happened. Stubborn.

I let him keep massaging it, even though it fucking hurt. I knew he wasn’t trying to hurt me. He was trying to help me, and later I would be thankful.

“Amber?”

“Mm?” I managed to get out between whimpers of pain.
