“Night brothers,” Jax said and walked back out of the room, I heard his footsteps go up the stairs. When I heard the bedroom door close. I looked at my brothers.
“Explain.” I said, my arms tightly crossed.
The boys remained tight lip. Like it wasn’t their place. I arched my eyebrows when they didn’t start immediately explaining.
“He walked,” Cole sighed, and went and sat down on the stool. “He handed over his fucking birth right, like it was nothing.” He added with a bit more aggression. “He fought so fucking hard for that club, and he just fucking walked!”
Troy grunted. “He didn’t even let us put up a fight for him to keep being King. He just. . .”
“Threw it in.” Tyler finished Troy’s sentence.
Cole’s eyes flickered to me, “Did you ask him to leave it behind?”
“God no! I would never ask that of him!” I blew out and ran a hand through my wet hair. “So, he’s what now?” I said looking at them.
“Exiled.” Troy scoffed. “Jax handed the patch in, but burnt the vest without a vote or anything. Club rules, you don’t burn the vest without permission to leave.”
“Rev got delight out of telling him he has seventy two hours to leave the country.” Cole added.
My face went pale, my expression dropping. As what Cole just said, sunk in.
“He’s exiled from the country,” I said, hoping to fucking god that I was wrong. That I had heard them wrong!
The boys looked at me. Where the hell did this leave Jack and I! Was Jax even planning on telling me, he was leaving!
Troy’s one head nod confirmed it.
“So I guess this is the moment,”
I glanced up, I hadn’t even seen Adam standing there. His eyes are on me.
“What moment!” I snapped at him.
“The moment, you decide will you follow him or get the clean slate. Cause I can guarantee Amber, when his plane leaves this country. He’ll never put a foot back on united states soil again. So if you wanted a life without him, this is the opportunity.” Adam pushed himself away from the wall. “I’m calling it a night.” He turned and left.
“He’s right you know,” Troy said after moments passed.
“Did you guys see what I saw?” I turned my head back to Troy, Cole and Tyler. “Adam wasn’t wearing colors.” I said, wondering if they had noticed. While they were still wearing the club cuts. Adam and Jax, both hadn’t been. I knew why Jax wasn’t, now. But Adam’s lack of club colors told me, that he had made his decision up as well.
The club didn’t hold his future.
But the real question was, did Jax hold my future?
Chapter 28
Jax
My eyes flicked up, off my phone. As Amber walked out of the bathroom. I did a double look, when I saw her expression. I put my phone down, as she walked to my side. Climbing over me, she straddled me and I swear if it was possible, I could hear her erratic heartbeat.
“Jax,” She whispered, and her eyes lifted to mine. “I’m pregnant.”
Her words sunk in.
I can’t stop the grin from capturing my face, and I cupped her face, kissing her lips.
I couldn’t stop but think, how lucky I fucking was. I was going to get a second chance and this time I wouldn’t lose her, or my children in the name of the greater good of the club.
I pulled back from our kiss. I had to tell her. Even though the timing wasn’t right.
