“What the fuck are you doing here?” I snapped at them. Had all four of them lost their minds?

“Got a phone call,” Cole barked at me, not holding back his anger.

“Yeah, same.” Adam yawned.

“Something about you not answering your phone.” Tyler leaned against the wall, not impressed. “Did they tell you who they were?” He looked at his brothers.

“Nope just told me to get Jax to answer his phone.” Troy shot me a dirty look. “So, we have all been woken up because you aren’t answering your fucking phone.”

“Must be your old man, for him to have all our numbers.” Adam was less aggressive at me.

“Well, he can fuck off.” I said what I had been thinking all night. I reached for my smokes. The one thing I didn’t give up in prison was smoking.

“Call back whoever it is.” Cole walked across the room and pulled the cigarette from my fingers.

“Why?”

“Because they said they would fucking call me back if you don’t answer and I want to sleep!” Cole yelled at me. “Amber’s already gotten me out of bed once tonight. All I want is sleep! And between you and her, I’m not getting any!” Cole’s rage was coming out like normal. Him and his fucking temper.

“Turn your phone off then.” I was a smart ass to him and I pulled another cigarette from the packet. I knew that would piss Cole off more.

Tyler groaned. “Come on, Jax, just listen to whatever your old man has to say. So, we can all go back to sleep.”

“Wasn’t sleeping.” I went to light my cigarette up and Cole snatched the lighter from my hand and threw it across the room.

“Who are we kidding, the only person Jax listens to is Amber. So, let’s wake her up and she can tell him to answer his fucking phone!” Troy threatened and then only had to take one step toward the door and I reached for my phone.

“Fine, I’ll fucking see who it is.” I wasn’t impressed. Troy knew exactly what to say to get me to react. I was pissed off about it, too.

Troy crossed his arms, looking rather smug with himself.

I unlocked my phone. Still didn’t fucking know how to use the fucking thing.

Managed to find the Internet on it, which got me to the motorcycle I wanted to buy. But if you asked me to do something else with it, anything to do with apps, I wouldn’t fucking know how.

“Private number.” I told the boys, I was rather happy about that. Meant I wasn’t calling my dickhead of a father back. I wasn’t telling him he had a grandson. Because he would want to poison Jack’s life like he had mine. I wasn’t letting him anywhere near my son. “So, you can all go back to bed now.”

They were all glaring at me, like it was my fault they were all out of bed.

“What I didn’t fucking call you!” I snapped at them when they kept glaring at me.

Then my phone started to vibrate in my hand.

“Not looking so smug now, are you!” Cole smirked at my misfortunate. “I hope your old man abuses the shit out of you for not answering.”

I rolled my eyes and let it keep ringing.

“Answer the phone, Jax!” Troy roared at me, clearly frustrated he was awake.

I hit answer and put it to my ear. “Well, Dad, this must be important for you to be calling fucking everyone,” I said bitterly into the phone. Can’t believe I had to answer his fucking phone call.

“Amber’s being executed.”

I frowned. “Who is this?”

“Tae. Look I’m trying to get there, I’ve been driving for the last hour but I’m not going to fucking make it.”

“What the fuck is happening?” Tae was calling me? My eyes narrowed. “I told you to stay the fuck out of Amber’s life.” Our last conversation coming back to me. “I told you to fucking stay away from her! If you turn up here now, I’ll fucking kill you!”
