Josh looked down, feeling embarrassed. He didn’t like the thought of his boss knowing his private life, but it also wasn’t Daniel’s problem to fix. This had been Josh’s decision, and he needed to own it.

“This has nothing to do with Daniel. He’s not able to ‘fix it’ as you put it. He’s tried, trust me. It was my decision, Oscar. I was presented with an opportunity and took it.”

“I thought you hadn’t gotten a new job yet?”

“That’s not... What I mean is... The opportunity wasn’t a new job, but it was a lucrative one.”

Oscar narrowed his eyes. “I can increase your salary.”

“No, I’ve found out you already pay me too much.”

“Who said that?”

“The market.”

“The market’s wrong. Don’t settle for less than you’re worth, Josh.”

“I need a job.”

“You’ve already got one, and you quit before bonuses. We’ve had a good year. Why are you throwing that away?”

He had a point. It was the other problem he had with finding a new job. Bonuses paid out in March for most financial services firms, so people were holding out for that before moving on. It was why there were so few jobs at his level.

“Can I make you a counteroffer?”

Josh sighed, but couldn’t help but smile. It was flattering to know how valued you were. Would he ever have this somewhere else? He’d heard nightmares about working for gay guys, in that they could be absolute bitches, but Oscar was like a big marshmallow covered in two hundred and fifty pounds of muscle.

“You withdraw your resignation for now. If you still want to go, you can resign on the twenty-fourth of March. That way, you still get your bonus. If you stay, I’ll bump your salary to seventy grand.”

Josh was stunned. What was he supposed to say to that? Gavin had been adamant that he wouldn’t get the money until he’d left. He’d sent confirmation that his resignation had been accepted, but no sign of the upfront ten grand he’d been promised. Josh didn’t want to chase him, as it felt cheap to be going “where’s my money,” but if there was a possibility Gavin was going to screw him over, he was being given an opportunity to backtrack and have some thinking time. Perhaps he knew about him and Daniel, so the deal was off and he just hadn’t told him yet. He needed some time to think about what was best to do.

“Can I think about it over the weekend and let you know on Monday?”

“Of course.”

“And thank you. It’s nice to feel wanted.”

“Not just wanted, Josh. You’re needed. This place would fall apart without you.”

He felt embarrassed. Praise was nice to hear, but it always felt awkward in the moment. Sensing this, Oscar steered the conversation back to business, and worked through the diary for the following week. Oscar was taking some time off, so there was some shuffling around to do. It would keep Josh busy for the rest of the day and stop his mind wandering too much to what he’d be doing this weekend. He didn’t want to spend the whole day with a hard-on.

Daniel opened the door of his flat with a beaming smile and pulled Josh into his arms. Face eating was their usual way to greet each other unless they were in public. His bag had dropped on the floor and he heard the door close a second before he was pushed against it. He wrapped his legs around Daniel and could already feel that monster dick pressing against him. He couldn’t wait to have it inside him again. Perhaps they could forget their date, and just get down to it. He ground up against Daniel, and the moans he was making were a good sign he’d be on board with this change of plan.

“I know what you’re thinking, and we are going on our date first.”

Josh gave a frustrated moan as Daniel chuckled against his lips, before claiming his mouth in another demanding kiss.

“Please,sir!”

“That won’t work on me,” he said, lowering Josh to the ground.

“Are you sure?” he said, palming Daniel’s cock. He groaned in response, closing his eyes.

“Get changed,” he said, smacking his arse.

Josh squealed; he couldn’t help it. His face heated from how much he liked it. Daniel looked at him, and his blue eyes were like fire as he licked his lips.

“You’re going to be trouble tonight, boy.”
