“Don’t need to thank me. I’m not gonna leave you on the couch. But go get a shower or change or whatever it is you need to do before you go out. We’re taking Ace and going on a picnic,” I say.

A huge smile slowly spreads across her face. “A picnic?”

“Yep. Ace can run around, and we can just hang out,” I reply.

“That sounds really nice, Jayden.”

Really nice that I want to figure out if you want my dick as much as I wanna give it to you? Not sure that’s the way I’d describe it, but alright.

After she finishes her coffee, she takes a shower and it’s killing me thinking of her wet, naked body. I scrub my face and go into my room to get away from the possibility of seeing her walk out of the bathroom.

I hear her scream and I run out of my room, stopping in my tracks. Ace is trying to pull her towel off and she’s doing a horrible job at keeping herself covered. I should yell, tell him to stop it, but fuck.

She’s flawless.

And I’m fucked.

“Ace, stop,” she yells.

I step forward and her head snaps to mine. That blush is burning against her skin, and I can’t look away. “Ace, come,” I hiss.

He runs to me, and it takes her a minute before she fixes her towel and rushes off toward her room. I look down at him and grin. “When I said I wanted to see her naked, I meant I wanted to be the one pulling her clothes off.”

Ace follows me into the kitchen as I put the sandwiches and drinks in my cooler. I grab a bone for him and toss it in too.

Cambri comes out of her room, and I don’t even need to look up to know her face is red. She has nothing to be embarrassed about. She should walk around naked all the fucking time. But I know that’s not what will help right now.

“I’m sorry Ace, once again, annoyed the shit out of you, but I gotta give you credit for holding that towel as tight as you did,” I lie. I glance up and she’s looking at the floor. “Cambri.” When she looks up, I smile. “I didn’t see anything.”

She shakes her head, that blush still in place, as she smiles. “You’re such a liar but thank you.”

I give her a wink and grab the cooler. “You ready?”

“How about I hold the cooler and you hold Ace,” she suggests.

I chuckle, putting Ace’s leash on. “I can handle both.”

We make the short walk to a huge field that is down the road. It’s wide open, but there are wildflowers all around it and one huge tree toward the back. I walk toward the tree, and she follows.

Ace is excited, looking around at everything and sniffing all the spots where an animal probably was at some point.

When we get to the tree, I drop his leash and he walks around, checking out the new area. I sit down, dropping my sunglasses over my eyes and look up at Cambri. She smiles and sits down across from me.

“Have you ever come out here like this before?” I ask.

“I’ve walked through the field to gather some wildflowers a few times, but I’ve never sat down to enjoy it.” She leans back on her hands and straightens her legs in front of her. “Have you ever had a picnic before?”

I rest my back on the tree and straighten my legs. “Nope, this is my first one,” I say, laughing. “I probably should’ve brought something for us to sit on, huh?”

She laughs and glances over at me. Her blue eyes are so bright, just like the blue sky above us. “No, we don’t need anything to sit on. This is perfect.”

Ace comes running over and sits next to me, panting. I pull out a water bottle and begin pouring it out while he licks. “Good boy.”

“Did you have a dog growing up?” she asks.

Ace lays down after his drink and I look over at her. “When I was a kid my mom had a dog, but I was too small to remember him. What about you? You ever had a dog?”

She shakes her head, closing her eyes as she leans her head back, allowing the sun to shine over her. She looks fucking angelic.
